The comments...

I've been away from the computer all weekend following my own advice....which is to let myself settle down before posting half cocked.

To clarify, there was no symbolic reason for leaving the comments open after the game. The battery on my wireless device died, and I couldn't close the comments until I got back home Saturday night. The comments were fast and furious, but they were mostly fair. There wasn't as much profanity laced tirades as I used to get after a loss. Thanks for that. I'm guessing that's at least partially because the earlier start kept booze consumption lower. Well...for you...not so much for me.

I did lock the original post below from the game. Nothing is gained by going back there.

I have a post that I'll get up shortly about what I think about the game. There are really two separate issues. One is the state of the program. The other is the state of this particular team.

Anxious to see your thoughts, PWD.

To me, one thing is clear: UGA has not evolved with the rest of the SEC elite (e.g., Florida, Alabama, LSU).

Our plays and schemes are stale.

As I read somewhere else, are we recruiting the wrong players, or are the coaches not coaching the right players?

Spurrier's comment from 1991 rings true: UGA gets all these great recruits. Then you never hear about them again.

(Obviously there are some players here and there that break that mold).

Cute how everyone's bringing up this quote today, seeing how lousy of a job Ye Olde Ball Coach has done at USC. He's Ray Goff II.

Cute? I don't know what you mean, and I don't care what he's doing at USC.

I'm simply saying that, generally, it applies to the current situation at Georgia.

I don't think it's cute at all, actually.

Paul,

I second the two seperate issues debate. In my opinion, which doesn't count for much, is that the team (if it has any grit, courage, etc.) will rebound and maybe we surprise oursleves...or at least for the current Senior's sake, we do.

As for the program, I don't think the sky is falling just yet, but in modern day College Football. YOU MUST WIN, WIN OFTEN, AND WIN CONVINCINGLY. We haven't done that one single game this year. We are more undisciplined than I have EVER seen (on every side of the ball), more turnovers than I really have EVER seen, and just an all around casual approach by the coaching staff (or at least to the media) about these problems that I have NEVER seen as clearly as now.

I'm utterly confused about what to think right now...

How much do you want to bet that Boogers has absolutely no affiliation with the University of Florida?

He's just one of the many UF bandwagon fans that have appeared over the last few years.

"LOL GO GATORS! UF IS DA BESTEST!"

Meanwhile he's still working on his GED and he's serving me french fries.

I hate fake ass Gator fans. I take it personally because I actually went to UF, unlike these posers.

Let's go Dawgs!!! said...

Rick:

Those are typically the ones (at UF, UGA, or otherwise) that give the colleges' fans bad names.

Here in Florida, we call them "Wal-Mart fans."

Born and raised in Gainesville...Graduated from UF in 1998. One of seven owners of a large gator bus that you probably have seen at LSU, Tenn, WLOCP..etc...Glad to hear you like eating Fries and going to Wal-mart....looks like that’s all your Defense has been doing with their time as well...Can’t wait until Oct 31st...

You're a credit to your fanbase...

I vote we stop commenting on this troll's posts. He's just trying to get a rise out of us, and it's really, really pathetic.

I guess this is what a degree from UF gets you: free time.

Hey Boogers -
Good for you. You're still a douchebag.

Boogers, your mom is calling you at the top of the stairs. Your peanut butter & jelly sandwich is ready. She even cut into fours for you. Hurry and run upstairs !!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I wear jean shorts, listen to Abba religiously, and secretly wish I could date Tebow, but he's doesn't want a boyfriend right now.

No, I'm serious.

Hell Boogers does not have a degree or a friggin' bus. In fact Boogers is probably a girl.

I'll post this as "anonymous" but I guess I could post as "nose skimming" if it makes it any more authentic.

Yes, the Dawgs have had a couple of bad weeks; but we are called FANS! We are here to support both the players AND the coaching staff. This is a young team and they are still getting their act together. We need to keep watching them and praying for them and giving them our support. I still say The Georgia Bulldogs are #1 on my score board.

There's nothing systemic wrong with our recruiting. Although, we do have major talent issues for this season at QB, DE and RB.

But you can't say there's a systemic problem at QB or DE given our history AND our future recruits at those 2 positions.

RB is just sort of a freak show right now. The OL is playing so badly that it's impossible to know where the talent level actually is.

I have a lot of family up in Tennessee and one of the topics we discussed entering the year was the Richt and Fulmer comparison.

To UT fans, Fulmer's loyalty to his assistants who weren't getting the job done was inexcusable and one of the main reasons he was fired. An unwillingness to change if you will.

I hope that Richt will man up and make the necessary changes but given the past I doubt any serious changes will be made.

That blind loyalty is at times admirable but when you have long tenured coaches who aren't getting the job done (Fab, WM) and 5th year seniors who by all accounts have 'earned their PT' but aren't getting it done either you have a real problem.

In a word 'Stagnant'.

Someone mentioned "winning convincingly". When's the last game we won convincingly? I think we have to go back to the Hawaii game, and that's just sad.

Sure Boogers.

Show proof or stfu and stop trolling. But you won't stop will you? And you don't have any proof to show us. Tell me, which retail store do you work at?

Careful not to step in the bullsh*t.
