"I'm going to go out there and play my heart out."

The story of the day yesterday involved the players being asked about the timeouts at the end of the game last year from Coach Meyer. Of all the player responses, I appreciated A.J. Green's the most:

A.J. Green wasn't around for the 2007 game, but the even-keeled wide receiver seethes about the 2008 timeouts.

"That's motivation for me," he said. "That's a sign of disrespect. So I'm going to go out there and play my heart out."

At the end of the day, that's all I expect. I expect that when I lug my ass down to every game home and away to support the team. When I spend a tremendous percentage of my net income on the Dawgs and invest my time that the team is going to show up and plays their heart out for 60 minutes. When I don't see that, it sends me off the deep end.

I hope the team is pissed, and I hope they play like it.

If Georgia is focused and plays to their talent level for 60 minutes, there's now way that the 16 point spread holds up. This weekend is a formidable task for the Dawgs. They need to act like they belong on that field with the Gators and play to their ability. If it takes feeling slighted by the timeouts to make that happen, good.

Separately -- Tommy Tuberville on ESPNU picked Georgia to win this game. He thinks the Dawgs are rested, and UF is a beat up mess offensively (paraphrase).

Vince Vance was arrested last night. FML.

if we win, we have to have ZERO penalties and ZERO turnovers. branden smith needs to be used as a decoy or a weapon on offense. we need to get a good clean shot on spikes to let him know he is not ready to play yet. i think bryan evans should sit this game out or maybe just limited to special teams. our receivers CANT allow florida's db's to push them around (or in other words - let their asses get knocked around). we cannot play this game 'not to lose' we have to be aggressive and that means even when we have the lead.

I think Richt needs to assign a grad assistant or one of the dozens of tutors to check drivers licenses once a week to make sure they are all valid.

This is ridiculous. You would think that with the history every player would be aware of his license status.

The vince vance arrest is ridiculous! He better be able to play. suspend him for the tennessee tech game. WTF?

The AJC is reporting that he is definitely not being suspended for the Fla. game.

Hilarious.

Vance isn't going to be suspended. Good. Suspensions for DMV crap is bogus.

On the original topic: the closer we get to cocktail party time, the more I think we've got a shot to win this game.

That video does seem familiar

Are the Athens and UGA cops (Nazi's) all Tech alums? These guys must be getting bonuses for arresting football players. I've never heard of this frequency of arrests around other college campuses. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Really? It's how many years now and we are still the scurge of the DMV. WTF is with this problem that never gets fixed?

And Paul, I don't know where to land on this game yet. My heart is telling me we can win, while my head is laughing at the naivete.

Amen! Do we wanna hear how the Gators have won 17 out of 20 next week?? Do we wanna see Tebow celebrating with the fans again?? We need to play smashmouth football right from the kickoff, take control of the game and set OUR tempo!!! Destroy the head of the monster Tebow and make him PAY for running it! And why is it so hard for football players to renew their licenses??

Indeed, Anon 4:36. We win and all of a sudden we're .500 with them for the past 6 years. That's not nothing. That's about as far back as today's graduating senior HS player can recall, anyway.

The games against oSu, LSU, and UT ensured that this isn't "the biggest Georgia game in a long time".

It'll be notable if we win, and same old if we lose.

This particular Georgia team doesn't belong on the same field as this particular Florida team. Sorry.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it the biggest game in a long time, but it'll be one of the most savory wins in a long time if we were to pull it off. I'd say playing for the SEC Championship three times and playing top 15 schools while we were undefeated were "bigger games," but this win would be up there on my most satisfying victories win.

Cause if we were to win, we won't be playing for any sort of championship, but we'll have bragging rights and satisfaction in knowing we made our biggest rival stumble on its path to victory.

But we have to play our tails off. This win in theory could happen, but we cannot be afraid.

That wasn't a sign of disrespect. It was disrespect. That's right, we don't respect you hilljacks. We play on a national championship level, and you compete with Kentucky. Remember your place. You forgot that two years ago. Now, be good little puppies and try holding us under 40. You gonna bark little doggie, or you gonna bite? I think we all already know the answer to the question.

Anon 9:54. I love some good rival smack talk.

But by posting anonymously, you show you are not confident enough in your smack talk to face the music if you turn out to be wrong.

Anonymous, have you watched your team in the last few weeks? 40 points? "Are you gonna bark or are you gonna bite??" Haha. Seriously? Are you 12??

I'm completely prepared for the loss. Nobody expects us to win so I can handle that part.

What will drive me off the edge are the terrible calls that will go against us. You just know the fix is in and we are gonna get screwed at some point in this game.
If it's a close game in the 2nd half, watch out for the phantom flags.
The SEC should just go ahead and start typing up their apology to Georgia for the poor officiating and missed calls.
UGA has to win in a blowout, otherwise there's no way the officials let us win the game.
It's sad that it's come to this.

Rick, for real! the refs cannot allow the Gator receivers and Dbacks to hold our jerseys to slow us down and create separation. How long are the refs gonna allow them to do this?? Riley cooper is a big abuser of this

Anonymous said...

How long are the refs gonna allow them to do this??

As long as it takes.

Anonymous said...

Wah wah wah the refs. Maybe if your team was worth being in a bcs conference you would get some calls. Great game, HA
