just feel bad for his family.

I used to think no one could surpass the attention whore Tebow, but I was wrong.
Here's to you going on a heater and making tons of money.
Bucket of crazy is very accurate. I think this thing is a multitude of events culminating in his latest mental break. I firmly believe he doesn't like the thought of next years record after losing so many coaches and players. The fact Bama crushed his Cinderella story with Tebow. His family feeling abandoned by their Father.
After his comments yesterday, the statements today all seem hollow. God was telling you something yesterday, your family was overjoyed to get their Father back, etc. His ego awoke and thought better of family, faith, and health.
as Clay Travis put it.
Urban Meyer's daughter: "It felt so good to have my dad back for 16 hours."
There's just too many loose ends. Yesterday it felt just like it did the first time I heard the Tiger Woods story ... nothing adds up ... nothing fits ...
This has all the makings of a very ugly situation for Jorts U. This is a nightmare for Florida AD. And anything that creates chaos in Gator nation is great for us.
PWD,
Give him a break. I'm sure he made sure to sit down with his family and discuss this decision at great length before deciding to change his mind. As he noted, family comes first...that's non-negotiable. Give the man some credit.
What? Oh, he told Foley before even talking to his family?
Yeah, he is pretty f*cking crazy. Sheezus.
This is a worst-case scenario for Florida.
1. The near-term implications: Recruiting, obviously. If you're committing to Florida, you're committing to an uncommitted coach and thus one whose assistants can't say with any real certainty how long they'll be around. When national signing day passes, your name will be on the dotted line and you may find yourself playing for someone other than the guy who signed you, and you will have no recourse.
2. The medium-term implication: Does Jeremey Foley have a coach, or does he need to find one? The cold, hard truth is, you've got a vacillating employee who is probably not going to give the same effort this year that he's given in preceding years. Is Meyer's second-best better than anyone else's best? Do you make that call or wait for Meyer to make it for you (again)? In the interim, do you reach out to other prospective hires? If so, what do you tell them? The coach emeritus thing is a no-go, as any coach worthy of a gig like Florida will object to having his predecessor around to crawl up his ass.
3. The longer term (assumes Meyer stays): What Meyer delivers in 2010 and onward likely will be something less than he delivered from 2005-2009. He's clearly at a crisis, and he can't operate the way he has in the past. I mean, he could, but then he'd either kill himself or cause UF to relive this drama in the not-too-distant future. Theoretically, it's possible that Meyer figures out a way to maintain the same level of dominance, without being so obsessively relentless, but I think that obsessive relentlessness is the key to his dominance.
If Meyer continues to play Hamlet, I don't see how UF comes out of this stronger, and I see plenty of ways they come out of this weaker. Whereas, if they just cut the cord with Meyer, at least there's some possibility that they keep chugging.
Urban Meyer is an Indian Giver...
And who gets to hire the DC.
This drama has been my favorite Christmas present this year by far....
yup. Health was not the issue. This was all about life after Tebow as the Gator coach. He knew/knows he can not live up to the same success that he enjoyed with Tebow. It was a great escape clause to rest a few years then go replace the current Notre Dame coach, but not anymore. What a debacle this turned into. Nobody appreciates this soap opera more than Tiger!
This game is setting college football back 30 yrs. Ugh!
Proud of the defense. Maybe just not hire a DC for 2010?

How'd the craps table turn out? MY best night ever was turning 200 into 1300 when every shooter had 10 minute rolls, was awesome.
