Damn

I was there. It was worse in person. I'm certainly no stranger to watching bad basketball, but the effort was a joke. The season overall is still an improvement, and we're still heading generally in the right direction.

We've generally done a good job of hustling in the losses. That's why the games were so close. This team isn't good enough to not hustle.

But last night wasn't a step forward. I have nothing positive to say about it. The effort was ridiculously poor. I will say that Trey got rooked on his last two fouls. Beyond that, what a wasted opportunity. Fox will have to move them forward from this, but it was a frustrating night to be a Dawg fan.

Rooked or not, Trey acts like a 3 year old when things aren't going his way.
We cannot get over the hump with that kind of attitude.

Yeah, that one was, to paraphrase Eddie Murphy, a real kick in the ding-ding. Very disappointing from pretty much every observable angle. While Auburn is a lot like us in that they are probably better than their record indicates, we still should've won that game. That one, Arkansas, and SC really haunt this team right now. To say nothing of the MSU game. Think of how close we are to being a very legit, solid 6-3 in conference right now.

I guess all you can do is just write off this year as Fox's shake-down cruise, but I had higher hopes. Next year should really be a much different story, provided Trey comes back. If not, well then we may have some problems.

I am beyong disappointed with the effort. Auburn is a below average team, at best. They live and die by the three. I thought Trey and Travis could expolit Auburn in the paint, but obvisouly that did not happen. I do see improvements, but damn! That's a tough one to stomach. you're right, that was definitely a swift kick in the nuts. My guess is the coaches and players are still puking after that one.

Trey is not leaving... are you kidding?

I'm so tired of hearing about the close loses and how we could be . We aren't. We've been rocked on the road twice in conference. Blew a huge lead at home. Lost to two non BCS schools.

I think next year we will be better. However, fact is we are a couple players away from being able to compete. This isn't to say fox has done a poor job, he's done a great job he just doesn't have the players you need to actually compete.

Paul,

I was there with you. The whole game the words 'sloppy' and 'uninspired' came to mind. I love Coach Fox but that was like a Felton display. They didn't act like they wanted to win the game or even look like they believed that they could win. Offensively, they were(barring Ware) lazily passing the ball and didn't seem to have anything going. It reminded me of the Felton offense, IE. pass the ball around the perimeter and hope someone is open for 3 or a 16 ft. jumper and ignore driving/creating open shots.

Side note: Were you the UGA fan that I looked square in the eye after the game and we shared disgust in that encounter even without words?

So my question is why not give Mayfield a chance? I'm not saying he should be starting or even getting 15 minutes a game. But he is MUCH BETTER than DZ!!!!! period! Ebuka has played well at times so I'm not complaining about him, but for DZ to get minutes ahead of Mayfield is just baffling to me. But, that would not have made a difference last night, but a 6'4 athlete that can handle, defend, rebound, and pass could definitely help this team. And don't say anything about him struggling shooting b/c so does everyone else on our team except Ricky. Just don't understand!

Flat, flat, flat. Fox has mostly been able to avoid that, but boy, when this team does come up flat, you get a swift reminder of what the talent level really is.

Trey, Leslie and some guys. Last night was just Leslie.

Because Demario is completely lost in the offense.

Trey would have never been called for that last fould if he wouldn't have turned the ball over 5 seconds before that because he was dribbleing the ball aimlessley down the court with no numbers.

Trey got rooked on the third foul too. He may have deserved that 5th one but I really thought fouls 2, 3, and 4 were jokes. Someone decided that Trey was going to get fouls quickly in that game. Show how subjective basketball officiating can be.

Told my wife the other night that I thought Jeremy Price would be starting instead of Ajax before the end of the season, but I did not envision it happening like this. What the hell was he thinking? Forgot, college kid, he wasn't thinking.... Oh well, please buy a ticket and show up tomorrow at 4pm, they still need our support.

Bought tickets, but I am afraid I am iced in now. Disappointing.

Kayleigh-- just remember that 09-10 bad is so much better than 08-09 bad...
