PWD,
Georgia has been producing extremely good basketball talent for 30 or more years. UGA could field a competitive team by recruiting Albany, Macon, Savannah, and Augusta. They could field a dynamite team when you throw ATL into the mix.
Having talent is old news. Having an AD and coach with enough common sense to realize this isn't. The only question I have is what took people so damn long to finally see this?
JAXDAWG
Jax - the state always had talent, but the past 10 years it has gone to an entirely different level. The demographics have changed and the location of the talent.
The bulk of the high end talent is most certainly not in Macon, Savannah or Albany now. It's the metro ATL area by far.
But that's neither here nor there.
The state is producing 2x the # of elite players it did 15 years ago.
