Georgia takes Florida Behind the Woodshed

After a long night celebrating the pwning Georgia put on Florida, I have arrived bask in the rightness of calling the shot. I had a feeling that this game would be a tough one for Florida, as they have shown a propensity for let downs (see both losses to Tennessee).  I also knew Georgia had to have a good day and play smart basketball. They did.

Yesterday, we saw the Georgia team that we'd hope we would see all season. Tough under the basket on both ends. Not afraid to get physical with the other team. Taking smart shots instead of aimlessly dribbling around or engaging in the halfassed passing offense until there are 10 seconds on the shot clock. KCP and Gerald had strong games. Ware had a huge game, too.

Also, mad props to the crowd. There were a lot of Gator fans in The Steg. At one point they started chanting some non-sense. Georgia fans drowned them out...and never got quiet after that. It was a good day. A very good day.

I was embarrassed it took me until noon to get it up. As we love to say, there is nothing like being a Georgia Bulldog the night after a win over Florida.

Any baseball coverage coming?

JJBA -- Don't know yet. Over the past 2 years, the blog went from 1 wife and 1 kid to 3 wives and 6 kids. So, the fellas have their hands full.

I know we're intrigued by what's going on in Athens. Let's see what happens when #17 UCLA comes to town for 3 games on March 9th.

We should be 12-1 or 13-0 when they arrive. We really haven't played anyone yet. That will be the first big test.

Normally, Perno schedules a much tougher OCC slate. This one is probably more in line with where we really should be.

3 vs. GT
2 vs. Clemson
3 vs. UCLA

Plus, the brutal SEC slate.

JJBA, I'll be able to get to some games a little later in the season and plan on covering the SEC slate pretty closely.

Like Paul said, the OOC schedule is pretty blah, but I am hearing very good things about the potential. If we can get our Fri, Sat, Sun rotation set and find a couple of guys to give a bit more pop in the middle of the line up (which it looks like we are doing with May, Hyams and Deloach), it could be a very good season.

Thanks guys.... I'm excited about SEC play even though the SEC might be even more stronger than normal this year. I'm just hoping these guys can be in the top 3rd of the SEC, which won't be easy, but would probably mean at least a home regional. Pitching looks strong but given the schedule I would like to see a little more offense with our mostly veteran lineup.

Not joking, Western Carolina will bring a decent product tomorrow. Thanks again for the response!
