|Shawn Williams interception against Tech|
"We've gotta stop playing soft. We're playing too soft defensively," Williams said. "That goes for D-line, linebackers, corners, safeties. I don't know, we're not playing with the same attitude we played with last year. I don't know what it is."
Those were the first words out of Williams mouth when he met with the media after Monday's practice. The often outspoken Damascus native said he wanted to speak up.Now, I find it interesting that Williams and the coaches had a moratorium of sorts on his availability to the media and now he's being given the mic. Oh, one other nugget:
So with a big game this week, what does he expect?
"I don't know. Hopefully this will get back to them and piss them off," Williams said.Williams is mad as hell and he isn't going to take it any more. The thing I heard more than anything else leaving Commonweath on Saturday was "I wish the team cared as much as we did." Looks like we have evidence that might be the case, at least from Williams. This is a strategic move instead of a frustrated player lashing out, IMHO.
