It just got real up in here

So, Alabama and Georgia are meeting in the Georgia dome next Saturday afternoon for the opportunity to play Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship game. In many ways, this doesn't seem real. ESPN talking heads were speaking in terms of Georgia and Alabama matching up well. It is hard to fathom that we are where we have heard we could be for the past few years, and considering 2010, it makes it all the sweeter.

Based on a couple of early released computer polls, Georgia has a shot of moving to second. We were 6th last week in Sagarin and now we are 4th. We didn't close the gap on Alabama in the Coaches' Poll, but if we jump them in another computer poll and close the gap in the Harris Poll, we could be very close to being second. We were .06 behind last week, so we'll need some help to get there.

Also, Florida could be very close to moving ahead of us. They are much loved in the computer polls, but didn't jump Oregon in the Coaches' Poll. Importantly, they are still nearly 100 points behind Georgia in that poll. Again, depending on the Harris poll, it could be very close for Florida to move in front of Georgia or Alabama this week. However, I don't see how the winner of the SEC championship doesn't move in front of Florida, even if they are ranked lower this week.

For now, the only thing we can do is go to Atlanta and scream our asses off for the Dawgs.
