Have to give credit where it is due, Vincent Williams had a great game. 23 points. Career high. 6-6 from the line.
However, the Dawgs lose by 17 to Missouri on the road. Is is a moral victory? Not exactly, as we still played timid at times on the offensive side. We also had too many bad turnovers (not those that Missouri created, but unforced or other mental errors). We had defensive breakdowns, particularly in our zone D.
Is Missouri 17 points more talented and better coached than Georgia, especially when they are at home? Probably. I still have to give Fox credit for keeping lineups more consistent and substitution consistent.
One last point, Georgia went 10-17 from 3pt range. That is something to keep an eye on. For the season, we are in the 30% range from behind the arc. If we are to shock someone, anyone, it'll take another 60% 3pt night, with fewer turnovers and defensive lapses. To put it another way, if we shoot 30% against Missouri last night, this game far more out of hand than 17 points.
