Georgia has a true freshman track and field athlete that is likely to make headlines in International competition: Kendell Williams.
Williams, a true freshman from Marietta, recently completed the indoor/outdoor sweep after being named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) indoor and outdoor National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year. In her freshman season, she won the NCAA indoor pentathalon crown, as well as the outdoor heptathlon crown.
She is the only Freshman on the Bowerman Trophy watch list, which honors the NCAA's best track and field athlete. The semi-finalists will be announced tomorrow.
Great season by a DGD.
