Hoop Dawgs beat Stony Brook

Other than playing dicey defense against this one guy in the first half, I though we looked pretty good. Fox made some nice adjustment to the zone to hold Puriefoy to just five second half points (he led all scorers with 26). The Dawgs had five guys with double figure scoring, including F Yante Maten's 11 on 17 minutes.

More impressive for Maten, he also four rebounds and four blocks. Hopefully, he can become the disruptive force under the basket we've needed. He needs to put on another 15 or so pounds, and continue to work in the weight room, but he is already up 15 or so pounds from when he was signed. He is a reason to be hopeful about this season.
