Bama Continues Search for Coach

Some would call this Mal Moore's "Plan B." I would argue that it was Plan A from the start. With any luck they'll have the job filled by the time we roll into Tuscaloosa in September.

Thanks to everyone that sent me this. Special thanks to the Aubie who put it together.

BTW -- Stallings doesn't want it afterall. It sounded like he wanted it on Finebaum the other day. Oh well.

How old is Stallings? Isn't he the same Gene Stallings who was on the Cowboys sidelines in the 70's? He had already been a multiyear Texas A&M coach before that. He's no spring chicken.

I am literally wondering when Alabama is going to resort to calling Jay Barker or Andrew Zow. Beyond that, I wonder why Alabama hasn't called someone like Danny White or Jay Gruden from the AFL, who have both been wildly successful, or perhaps approached Tampa Bay about John Gruden, seeing as how he's likely out at the end of the season...

I try not to delight in the misery of others. And like a lot of people in Georgia, I grew up liking Alabama because a) they're not Auburn, and b)Bear Bryant wasn't just a legend in Alabama, he was a legend throughout the South, even in my diehard red and black home.

That being said, no other coaching search in history has ever so gloriously demonstrated that karma is for real, and it's a bitch and a half. I just imagine that if he has half a brain, Mal Moore will be walking around like the monk in that antibacterial tissue commercial, trying to live in harmony with all of God's creatures. Either that or he'll buy a houndstooth hat and start smoking unfiltered chesterfields, and hope no one notices the difference.
