As if there was any question.

Stick, believe it or not, in Columbus, GA, there are numerous Auburn fans who will openly scoff at the notion that Herschel could even compare to Bo Jackson. This just goes to show you what the IQ of the average AU fan is.

Herschel is the greatest college RB of all time. The only one who can compare, in my opinion, is Tony Dorsett. The difference is HW turned a 6-5 team into national champs his freshman year. It took TD until his senior year to win a national title.

Herschel should have won the Heisman as a freshman. Period. His stats were better than George Rogers' stats, his team was better than George's team, and Herschel COMPLETELY outplayed George head to head on national tv with high rankings and bowls on the line.

No doubt Bo was a great college RB. There's a LOT of doubt that he could have taken the ball 35 times a game for 3 years like Herschel did. One AU guy here once told me this: "You're one of those people who think Herschel was better than Bo, arent you? Bo was so much better it isnt even funny." I responded by admitting that Bo was certainly a better baseball player than Herschel. Football? Not so much.

no wonder I hate AU. Sometimes they make S Carolina fans look like dour realists.

Well, you've got to understand Auburn fans. They realize that no matter how far Alabama falls or how many times they beat 'bama, the Tide will always be the state's flag ship University and the first school that comes to mind when anyone thinks of college football in that state.

That may not be the case 60 years from now, but no one who cares today will be alive to give a crap in 2067.

Bo was a great athlete, possibly the greatest so far, but I'd take Herschel 1st in the backfield and on the track. Either way, both of them were iconic for all the right reasons.
