"I can't leave on losing to Tech"

As you probably saw yesterday, Jeff Owens is staying. Just as importantly, Owens says that Rodney Garner is staying. I ran into Jeff Owens at the Gala last weekend, and he looked like a guy that needed to return. You can't really enter the draft overweight and with what looked to be a minor limp.

When he gets back in shape / healed up, he'll really help the team. As many people have pointed out in their articles, the leadership he brings is enormous. Senior leadership was one of the biggest things missing from the squad this year.

This is great news for the DT's, but we have got to find some pass rushing ends. It makes me anxious to rely on Toby Jackson, a prep school guy who's never played a college snap, to come in and create a pass rush.

Jackson should be a beast, but I agree with you about having to rely on him. The McPhee kid had some pretty prolific numbers in JUCO, but again, we would be relying on unproven commodities.

Florida's defense this year squashes any talk about needing senior leadership. We just need good playmaking and quality coaching...neither of which we had.

the hive's response to Owens comments, "who is Jeff Owens." Our toughest year since 2000, their best since 2000, a three point win for them, and now they are a "powerhouse." nerds

he better not leave next year either then...

We are certainly glad Owens will be back, but hopefully he will put out in practice much more thanhe did this year. A Manager friend indicated, that though he was respected as a leader he was a loafer in practice. I often wonder if this type of thing led to our poorer than expected performance in addition to the many injuries.

Jeff just wants to come back only to lose to Tech in Atlanta next year. Get use to it Bulldog Nation.

Owens along with every other self-respecting Dawg fan were pissed after seeing the Tech nerds breaking off pieces of the hedges after the game. He wants to come back and win in Atlanta next year. Don't be surprised if you see the Dawg players walking around after the game carrying Asian tech students as a trophy after they win.

Hey hey hey...you can only carry them around if you take them home with you...as the Tech players did with the pieces of hedge. A lot of us Tech fans were upset that they did that, but it happened. They were excited...hopefully they didn't do too much damage. Good luck in your bowl game and Merry Christmas!
