On this Day in History

(Not sure if this is 100% accurate, but it sounds right)

Jan. 19, 1997 -- Jasper Sanks was named to the Parade All-American high school football team for his outstanding play at Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. He also verbally committed to UGA on this day.

Proving once again...you never know when it comes to recruiting.

. . . And four years and 60 days ago today, Jasper Sanks was dismissed from the Georgia football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Just a sad, sad story. And maybe I'm looking at it differently because he's from Columbus, but the story is all the sadder because Sanks wasn't some malicious punk like Marcus Vick, he just wasn't smart enough to keep from f&$!ing up.

Anybody know what Sanks is up to these days? I always kinda wondered.

Sanks is rumored to be working at a Georgia Crown facility in the Columbus area. Making a living, but nothing special.
