3. Dwayne Jarrett - USC
2. Brady Quinn - Notre Dame
1. Adrian Peterson - OU

By Conference:
ACC: 1
Big 12: 1
Big 10: 5
Big East: 3
Pac-10: 2
SEC: 6
Notre Dame: 2

Couple of items of note:
-- Chris Leak didn't make the list. You might be thinking..."So." Well, when you see the wave of hype that is already starting regarding the 2006 Florida Gators, you'll see why I said that.

-- If Calvin Johnson had a QB, he'd be higher on the list. Although, the bed wetting performance he put on in San Francisco, really hurt his standing nationally.

-- Troy Smith is a bad man, but he's way too high on this list.

-- Sidney Rice is too low. That guy is a monster.

"sigh"...Brady Quinn #2 player in the nation?..Sure he's a gamer...but for cryin' out loud, can you be a little more subtle with the ND bias?Any other team in America and he doesn't smell the top 20.Just my humble opinion.

Brady's the beneficiary of not only ND bias but Weis hype and the infatuation of the gay sports fan.

Samardjza or whatever - top 10? That's even more goofy.

While SEC has 6, it has 0 until number 10. You going to tell me there's not an SEC player higher than number 10 - eg ND has two players better than any SEC player. Louisville has two players better than all but one SEC player. Ditto PSU - and even in PSU's case, they have 2 defensive players better than all but one SEC player. Ditto OSU.

Calvin Johnson is no better than Signey Rice!!

will be interesting to see how Jarret does this year without the two best college players of the last decade in the backfield with him...I think that Rice or Calvin would have gotten 2000 last year if surrounded by USC's talent...
