These Ladies are Hot

Humphrey and Baker are on fire

The Lady Dawgs face a titantic challenge next week vs. UConn in Bridgeport, CT as they advance to the Sweet 16. However, you have to like their chances given the way that Tasha Humphrey and Sherill Baker (the Arsene Lupin of women's hoops) are playing. Both are shooting lights out, and Baker is stealing everything that isn't nailed to the floor.

Baker now has 12 steals in the tourney. Granted, there's zero parity in women's hoops and this was a gross mismatch BUT the Lady Dawgs are playing with a great degree of confidence. Here's the lead from the AP story.
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Sherill Baker scored 26 points and Tasha Humphrey had 24, helping Georgia blow the game open in the second half to defeat Hartford 73-54 Tuesday night in the second round of the Bridgeport regional.

Humphrey had 17 rebounds for No. 3 seed Georgia (23-8), which reached the round of 16 for the 16th time in 23 NCAA appearances. The Bulldogs will face either second-seeded Connecticut or No. 7 seed Virginia Tech, who played later Tuesday.

The inside-outside combination of the 6-foot-3 Humphrey and the 5-8 Baker was too much for No. 11 seed Hartford (25-8), which had upset No. 6 seed Temple Sunday for the first NCAA tournament win in school history. Erica Beverly led the Hawks with 13 points.

Baker and Humphrey combined to shoot 67 percent (22-for-33), but it was the Bulldogs defense that orchestrated the 15-0 run that left Hartford trailing 57-42 with 12 minutes remaining.

I was watching this game last night while I was out at a bar with some folks, and did anyone else think the Hartford coach was kinda hot? Anybody? (No disrespect intended to the Lady Dogs, of course, but Andy Landers doesn't really do it for me.)

She's hot for a women's b-ball coach no doubt. But that's a pretty heavy grading curve. I'm not gay or nothing, but Andy Landers would make a hotter chick than some of the auto mechanics that troll women's hoops sidelines.

Otherwise, I didn't think about it too much.
