The Queen of the Five Finger Discount -- Sherill Baker

One of the Top 3 greatest women's hoops players of all-time is Teresa Edwards. During Edwards' four seasons at Georgia (1983-86), the Bulldogs compiled a 116-17 overall record (87.2%), participated in four NCAA Tournaments, reached the NCAA Final Four twice (1985, 1983), finished runner-up in 1985, and won three Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles (1986, 1984, 1983).

As an Olympian, she won 4 gold medals and one bronze medal for USA Basketball. Teresa was still playing professionally in 2004...at roughly 42 years of age.

She is the gold standard for female point guards. No one could steal the ball like Teresa. Why do I bring all of this up?

A few weeks ago, Georgia senior Sherill Baker passed Edwards' 20 year old career record for steals as a Bulldog.

Last night, Baker recorded 10 steals in a win over Miss State. Baker's 10 steals ties a single game school record and moves her into second place on the SEC's all-time list. She is now just four shy of SEC career steals leader Tan White of Mississippi State.

That would put her in some incredibly elite company. Basically making her the Queen of the Five Finger Discount. The Danny Ocean of women's hoops. The Thomas Crown of UGA basketball. Heck, the Steve Dacri of women's roundball.
