Georgia Grapevine Considering an End to It's Long Run

One of the longest running, most used and best resources for Georgia Bulldog recruiting news has been the Georgia Grapevine.

Today, the guys at the Grapevine said the following regarding the future of this site.
Grapevine Editorial: With the majority of UGA's recruiting done, and so few prospects still undecided, there simply is not much to report on these days. And it looks like it will be a waiting game this next week and a half for the prospects still making their decisions. We will bring you news as we can, but don't be surprised if it's just more of the same as it has been this past week - until signing day.

Another Grapevine Editorial: the Grapevine will probably go on hiatus AFTER signing day, while we as a staff decide on its future. Like so much to do with the Internet, the Grapevine's purpose seems to have become overtaken by events, meaning we may no longer serve much purpose other than to regurgitate what is reported by the online services. Plus it is considerable work to keep the site running and current, and despite our best efforts, the staff has been unable to find a way to stave off the ravages of time. IOW, we're getting older and more tired! We will inform our loyal readers of our decision once it's been made, but be prepared for the real possibility that the Grapevine may no longer exist after February, and for the almost certain possibility that, if it does continue, it will be in a much abbreviated form.

Regardless of what the guys over there decide to do in the future, here's a big thank you from my part of the Dawg Nation for their hard work over the years.

Personally, I think that there is still a role for such a landmark site.

Here here. I echo that pw. regardless of what the grapevine decides on their future, I would like to give a big thank you for all the hard work and great info they've brought in the past. The appreciation for all they've done can not be overstated.

Those guys over there rock! There will always be a place for them. Even if they don't update as much, that is a great place to go and get caught up.
