If they commit to GT together, does that make them Tri-Lamb pledge brothers?
It's a DEEP year for in state qualified kids, and that has worked to the advantage of UGA and GT. Several kids have looked at both schools and the chips have fallen to both sides of the aisle.
UGA would've liked to have had all three, but that's not the way it looks to shake out.
Dwyer is one we wanted at running back and with Caleb King looking hard at Auburn not signing him may be the biggest bummer of the three. UGA already has QBs and DBs stacked up pretty nicely so losing Nesbitt isn't totally unexpected, and our OL recruiting has picked up to the point that if he picks the Jackets it won't be the disappointment that it would've been last year.
Still, have to hand it to Gailey. Once he *finally* wised up and fired Dave Wilson as recruiting coordinator, things have picked up for the nerds. It will be interesting to see how the class holds together if the season unravels for Tech.
Here's hoping that one of them wins "power of veto" and doesn't have to appear in the next episode of Big Brother 8: Tickle Pile Dreams.

I think not having your headcoach bumble his way through an offensive gameplan also is a contributing factor. Gailey has a ton of HUGE faults, but being unlikable isn't one of them. I always figured that grandpa'ish good old boy demeanor had to sell well with parents.
It's just not we got a recruiting coordinator that is getting him in the living room with the right kids and the right parents. I never figured Gailey would go all Ricky Roma, but he's doing it this season.
I'm very excited, but signing day is still a ways off and that always makes me nervous.
David Wilson was a horrible ST coach as well, hopefully this huge difference in recruiting will also show up in ST's.
Secondly, it's not just the coaching staff - the Tech parent's group is one of the best in the country, and is hyper organized (see the recent AJC story on their website, mentoring programs and full on travel services). Do not underestimate the influence of Calvin's family, they are a driving force in the program. Landing him has had impacts far, far beyond just his performance on the field. He has the potential to be a program changer beyond just his 4 years playing.
If Tech really ends up with Threet, Monroe, Claytor, Everson, Donley, Dwyer, White, Walls, Gilbert, Jones, Jackson, Butler and the rest - this class will be the best in Jackets history (better than the Fox/Smith class, even). Add in the potential of the public commitments on ESPN, and you've got a heck of a lot of momentum to work with.
