Recruit De-commits from UGA and Commits to UGA

Walter Hill (Source: Scout.com)

Felton's loss is Richt's gain as Walter Hill (6'5" and 200 lb) drops his verbal to the UGA hoops program in favor of a scholarship offer to play for the Georgia Football team. Carter Strickland of the AJC has the story.

B/c of some old "Bear Bryant Rules," a player who signs a football scholarship can play other sports. However, a player who signs a scholarship to play a sport other than football has to wait two years before playing football. Technically, he can still play basketball, but his HS coach didn't make that sound like a real possibility when he talked to the AJC (link above).

Scott Kennedy of DawgPost.comc alled this a "HUGE commitment" for the Dawgs. (Note: Ignore the 1 star on Hill's profile on Scout.com. They had him as a b-ball player until today).

In other recruiting news, Chad Simmons of Ugasports.com talks about Vince Vance (Juco OL) and his offer list. Vance is a rare Juco that has three years to play three. Most Jucos have 3 years to play two.
