PackPride.com, the Scout.com NCSU site, is reporting that Amato will not return for 2007. After seven losses in a row, this news should come as a shock to no one.
Separately, ESPN.com is reporting that Arizona State has fired Dirk Koetter. As Orson Swindle of EDSBS said last week, Koetter would make a helluva choice for offensive coordinator at a place like Florida State. The former Boise State coach was hired the same year that Richt arrived at UGA. Koetter won 40 games in 6 years. As a point of comparison, Richt has won 60.
This Sun Devil news is relevant to Dawg fans as we travel to ASU in 2008, and we see a return trip to Athens in 2009. Keep an eye on who they hire.

I've always liked Amato, but not as a HC. At N.C. State his defenses were pretty good. I'd love to see him on the staff at UGA for what it's worth . Yeah, I know probably just wishful thinking.
