I think all of this 'Saban is a liar' stuff is ridiculous. It's as if folks have never been involved in a job search before.

Man, if CMR pulled that crap with us, you'd be saying the same thing.
He's slimy & lies as easily as he breathes.

I'm not laughing at Saban so much as I am at the Bama fans who are 100-percent rock-solid certain that Saban is never going anywhere else now that he's at Alabama. On the AJC message boards this morning, Tiders were actually crowing about how Saban said he was never going to coach for any other team, apparently having conveniently ignored that just a couple weeks ago he said he'd never be taking the Alabama job in the first place.

Reminds me of a saying my sister once passed along to me: A man who marries his mistress leaves an opening for that position.

Hey, I ain't disputing whether or not Saban is a bit swarmy because he is. My thing is that this kind of thing happens all the time ... it's only the money and the high-profile attributes of the two jobs making this a big deal.

If Richt left under circumstances like this? Yeah, it'd suck and I'd be mad. But I'd recognize it's a business also. Listen, I'm a Red Sox fan, and I survived Johnny Damon taking the money and running.

I can remember when Charley Pell gave an interview stating that he was not leaving Clemson for Florida and he must have had the plane ticket in his pocket because he left the interview and went straight to the airport.

I had a guy say to me before the deal was done, "Why would he go to Alabama. They ain't got nothin!"

I told him that they had 50 million dollars. What else do they need?

I wish I was in the Haterade business -- I'd be cleaning up.
