Quick Recruiting Links

This and that from the recruiting world.
  • UGAsports.com reports that offensive lineman Joe Blaes has changed his verbal commitment from Georgia to Iowa State. If you remember, Blaes was the JUCO OL that wanted to enroll early a few weeks ago with the other JUCOs, Prep kids and high schoolers. At the last minute, UGA ran out of scholarships for early enrollees because one of our existing seniors didn't graduate in December as originally planned. Blaes still had an offer for Fall enrollment, but he decided to go elsewhere.

Fact is, this commitment never made a bit of sense to begin with. This was another Neil Callaway special. An early commitment from a kid no one else wants that scares other kids away because our depth chart starts looking full. We went all the way out to Kansas to beat out Baylor for this guy? Insert shaking head. Best of luck to Blaes, but I'd be shocked if this has any impact on us one way or the other.

  • David Ching reports that the Dawgs are looking to make a final push on the recruiting front. Ching talks a bit about Allen Bailey (MLB/DL recruit). While we're talking about Bailey, DawgPost.com says UGA will get one of his final 3 visits.

  • A Northeast Louisiana newspaper speaks highly of our new OL Coach Searels.

  • UGASports.com catches up with Trinton Sturdivant in a premium article about his early enrollment.

  • Dawgpost.com talks with Cam Heyward. We're not currently scheduled for an official visit, but we still sound strong with him.
Overall, everything I've seen points to the Dawgs closing with a few more big name guys and another Top 10 class.

I don't care where he goes as long as it's not Florida.

Die you Gator scum. DIE!

Okay, the lady on Fox 5 Atlanta news last night said Heyward is down to Ohio State and Florida. Where the heck did that come from?
