Hahahaha...God love him....that was great...if only we could see more responses like that to these inane sideline reporter questions
Reminds me of the sideline reporter who asked the Boise State coach why he benched the quarterback before the end of the first half against Georgia. The coach got all bug-eyed and asked her, "Did you watch the first half?"
But still I don't see it as a male versus female thing. All sideline reporters are full of shit and rarely have anything to offer.
But I would rather watch Erin Andrews ply her trade than any of the others.
He was probably too liquored up by that point to string together a coherent thought.
I don't have much use for sideline reporters unless they gather information on something very relevant; i.e. an injury (see Mercer, Mike). That's the kind of information we all want to know. Everything else is really covered by the booth, isn't it?
I especially don't have much use for women sideline reporters unless they genuinely ask pertinent questions that are of immediate value. This is actually pretty rare. They are just a distraction, IMHO. (See, Guerrero, Lisa).
Obviously, ol' Bear was of the opinion that women sideline reporters were an incredible waste of time...especially when you are down to your archest-of-rivals at the half. I doubt Keith Jackson himself would not have gotten too much more out of that ol' Sumbitch.
