Georgia's NCAA Tourney Resume

Image: georgiadogs.com

Georgia (14-9, 6-5 SEC) is very much on the bubble with 5 SEC games and a fluffer game vs. Kennesaw State still left pre-SEC tourney. Here's our current tourney resume:
    -- Record vs. Div I teams - 13-9
-- Current RPI: 43 or 44 (depending on which site you use)
-- Strength of Schedule Overall: 12
    -- Non-conference Strength of Schedule: 121
-- SEC Record: 6-5 (4th overall in the league)
    -- Vs. RPI Top 50: 3-7
    -- Vs. RPI Top 100: 7-9
    -- Last 10: 6-4
A 9-7 SEC record would very likely get us into the NCAA tourney. However, our overall record vs. NCAA Div I teams would only be 17-11. We'd need to win the first round SEC tourney game to make it a stone cold lock. More on that later.

Kennesaw State's RPI is only 285. Even with a win over them, our RPI will probably fall a little. Our final SEC schedule looks like this:
Feb 17 Auburn (home) - no TV
Feb 21 Ole Miss (away) - no TV
Feb 24 Miss State (home) - LF Sports
Feb 28 Kentucky (away) - LF Sports
Mar 3 Tennessee (home) - TBD
Ole Miss has won four of its last five games, and they have been especially stout at home. Going into Oxford to pick up a win without Mike Mercer will be brutally tough. Or said differently, getting to the NCAAs will likely come down to our final regular season game against the Vols.
