-- UGASports.com is reporting that
Ben Harden (OL/Hargrave) qualified, and he will enroll at Georgia (Image: Rivals.com). That'll give us some quality practice depth, but I'm expecting a redshirt. The only OL race of interest looks to be at left tackle where Sturdivant (Fr.) will try and hold off Vince Vance (So./Juco). Vance has the tools, but has the proverbial light hasn't come on yet?
The
post-spring depth chart just blows my mind when looking at the OL youth (not that I'm telling you something you don't already know):
First team includes:
-- 2 Sr. / 1 Jr (JUCO) / 1 RFr. / 1 True Freshman
Second team includes:
-- 1 So. (Juco) / 2 RFr / 2 True Freshman
If Callaway hadn't wasted Chester Adams and Ken Shackleford's freshman years to play virtually zero meaningful snaps, we'd have an NFL 6th round draft pick (Shack) starting at Left Tackle instead of a True Freshman. Plus, Adams would be back next year to provide more stability and leadership for the '08 line.
-- Separately -- The Dawgs beat Tech in baseball to take the season series. Say what you want about Perno, but he knows how to beat GT when he absolutely has to...even in bad seasons. The AJC has
the facts and Kyle King has
the details.

The good news for the Dawgs is that while our offensive line is young and not very deep, the same thing is true of most of the defensive lines they will be matched against.
