Dawg Nominated for ESPY: Vote Now
She's the one in the middle
Kara Lynn Joyce, UGA Swimmer and Olympian, was nominated for a 2007 ESPY in the category of Best Female College Athlete. The other candidates are Candice Parker at UT, softball players at UT and Arizona and a soccer player from Notre Dame.
Joyce is the second all-time most decorated collegiate athlete (male or female) in any sport in NCAA history with 18 National Championships including 50 and 100 yard free at the 2007 Championships.
It'll be tough competition for Joyce going against Parker (who is nominated in about five categories). This is a fan voting award. The voting opened yesterday at noon, and it stays open til July 7th. The award show will be broadcast on July 15th.

Call me stupid, but I can't see where the provided link lists Kara as an option in the voting. A little help here?
There is a long list of contests. The link takes you to the ESPY voting and the Women's NCAA category is about 2/3rds through the voting. I don't know if there is a way to only vote for that category.
Also, J. Dahlgren would have been another good candidate.
It will be a tough road, because women's hoops and even softball get much more airtime than swimming.
Damn. Easy on the eyes and a champion. She's got my vote. HOLLA!
Yeah, I was thinking if they put the contestants in bathing suits, she would win hands down, because typically softball girls are... well, um... how do you say?
However, they didn't use such a good photo on the ESPYs
You have to drag the thin blue line on the right side of the box down to get to the Best Female Collegiate Athlete category. It is a very poorly designed website.
