The "other" way to parachute into a stadium

Last week, I showed you the cool way to drop into a stadium with a redonkulously good video from the 2005 Georgia/Auburn game in Sanford Stadium. The "other" way comes courtesy of Mississippi State.

Damn. Just. Damn.

Reminds me of the Falcons/Vikings game in '91 or '92 that I went to for my birthday. Herschel was still playing for the Vikes then, and the game was in Fulco Stadium. They had three guys dropping in on parachutes into the stadium. First two guys went in fine. Third guy got his chute caught in the wire that holds the top of the field goal net, bounced/swung like twice, and then dropped about 40 feet straight down. Scuttle after the game was that he broke his back in the fall. We were, of course, sitting in the end zone where it happened.

I was at that game, too...in the opposite end zone. As I recall, it was too breezy for such aerial antics that day. I told my buddy "I have a bad feeling about this...and sure enough. I just remember the guy hanging there...and the pause before his chute began to slowly, then quickly slip over the wire that holds up the field goal net. I heard he broke his hip and a leg.

Silly bizarro bulldogs... can't do anything right! That's what happens when you steal our mascot, and even our own unique spelling of it... the curse continues!
