"No one tells Vandy, 'you're gonna loose' they tell themselves that and they loose"

We loose in Jacksonville because we look back to the past.

Forget the records, go out there and play with a clean slate.

Fans cheer with light heart! We will prevail!

Go Dawgs!

I'm not going to argue with Herschel on this (or ever when it comes to football), but sometimes I feel we get it in our heads that we are invincible until we get out butts handed to us. If an opponent is having a down year but is still a quality team (Tenn 07), or has a history of being a given win (Kentucky 06, Vandy 06) it seems we get into that "Well it's just _______ we can win that" mindset and don't come out ready to play.

Then when the opponent has nothing to lose they have all the motivation they need to pull the upset (UGA/Auburn 06, UGA/Tech 06).

Perhaps I'm way off on this, I'm no coach, I'm just a huge Dawg fan with more heart than brains. The UGA squads with Herschel had the ability AND the humility to know the had to give 110% to turn that fire into a win.

In my opinion these young dawgs have the ability (youth is no longer an excuse), they just need to know they aren't invincible and that every Saturday whether it's University of Florida or Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services that there is an opponent who is itching to beat the dawg-squeeze out of us and we MUST SHOW UP TO PLAY.

Just like Tenn the week before I thought we walked into Nashville assuming a "W" was in our pocket. Vandy showed up, and UGA didn't but somehow managed to pull it out.

I was happy to see a little life out of Coach Martinez but I can't help but feel it was because people were wanting to see it, but you can't fake that. UGA seems to be in the Good Cop/Good Cop position with CMR and Martinez. I'm in the guilty party of wanting to see a crazy-eyed lunatic of a DC breathing fire and knocking heads around on our Defensive Line (btw did anyone else hear Muschamp screaming the F-bomb into the field mic near the end of the Auburn/Arkansas game?)

...Oh hell bossman's coming. GO DAWGS!

Paul, like you said "Good Stuff". Maybe even great stuff. Especially the part about being on the same page. Imo, that has a lot to do with whether you think you are going to lose...

Maybe we need to get Herschel in front of this team. It's time for the excuses to stop and go out there and play like you mean it.

BTW... it was good for Mark Richt to show some fire, even if it was for "dancing on the star." This team needs some fire. This teams needs an Erk Russell or Brian Van Gorder type to kick some butts in line.

so what event was this clip from? There are some major faces in that room, I'd love to see the whole thing.

It is from the GA Legends Reunion DVD that came out a few years back. I think it was two DVDs with several hours of footage. Kind of expensive, but it was well worth it for some of the stories the former players told.

Can't find a link to it though.
