If you've got 90 seconds...

You will not believe the finish at the South Carolina State championship basketball game. AJ Green's team wins it, but it's not the ending from Hoosiers. Wow. (ht - gdawgs00)

That looked pretty close to me. I say give it to the kid. That would've been an incredible win.

Can someone fill me in on the back story of the fire helmet and coach mulkey?

I thought the shot was let go before the horn.

That video was refreshing if only for its lack of commentators ruining the feel of the game and the excitement of the crowd with inane chatter.

Fantastic highlight. Is it just me, or was the ball clearly in the air and THEN the horn sounds and the backboard lights up? I'm all for cheering for AJ and his team, but it seems to me Spartanburg got hosed.

Skidawg1985:

Coach Mulkey was a firefighter for the city of Charleston. He died, along with 8 other firefighters, battling a horrific blaze in Charleston last June. He was only 34. He was the Head Coach of the JV team and the Asst Coach of the Varsity Team. He was also a Summerville Alum.

Wow - Is it just me, or did you cringe every time AJ jumped in the air fir a shot or rebound?

Christian

PS - He had a very nice stroke on those 3 pointers....

the ball was clearly in the kids hands when the clock runs out.

"i say give it to the kid"

yeah, let's just give away the state title b/c some kid hit a 3/4 court shot AFTER time expired. That's always a good message to send. jesus, some of you are idiots.

Dude, it was pretty close. Just bc AJ was on Summerville doesn't mean you have to be biased against the other team. IMO, the refs could have gone either way. I'm surprised for a state championship game they don't have a tv monitor like in college or NBA to determine the time when the shot occurred.

Count the bucket.

The trail official should have been blowing that thing off as soon as it left the kids hand if HE thought it wasn't good. More than likely he got talked into it in the huddle afterwards.

Looked good to me.

watch the clock behind the shooter. It is clear that that it hits .00 just before he releases it, but it is so close.

The camera gets blurry from motion right as he releases it but to me it looks as if the light in the backboard goes off and it looks like the ball is in his hand but i really can't tell. I agree the ref right there should have made a call.
