CBS leaks info on Dawg kickoff times

Night Games = Supply Run (Image: businessweek)

David Paschall of the Chattanooga Times Free Press interviewed Mike Aresco, CBS's senior vice president of programming. Among his other responsibilities, Aresco apparently decides what games will air each week on CBS as part of their SEC coverage.

Everything is still described as "speculative" at this point, but he points to ESPN having Alabama at Georgia as one of ESPN's priority picks.
A night home game against the Tide = Awesome Tailgate
The article also lists the UT game as a possible evening kickoff on CBS due to their double header schedule. As Iron Chef Turducken just pointed out to me, Mike Adams would likely lobby for the UGA vs. UT game to be played at 3:30 pm in order to avoid back to back night games in Athens. Regardless, it's an option on the table.

Based on the article and our previous discussions with the schedule, our TV / kickoff time schedule could very well look like this (home games in bold):
    -- Georgia Southern - 1:00 PM (PPV)
    -- Central Michigan - 12:30 pm (Raycom*)
-- at South Carolina - 3:30 pm (CBS) - Per article linked above
-- at Arizona State -- 8:00 pm (ABC)
-- Alabama - 7:45 pm (ESPN) - ESPN has priority pick
-- Tennessee - 3:30 (CBS) - Double header CBS weekend
    -- Vanderbilt - 12:30 (RayCom)
-- at LSU - 3:30 (CBS) - Per article linked above
-- vs. UF - 3:30 (CBS) - Per article linked above
    -- at UK - 12:30 (RayCom) - Best Guess
-- at Auburn - 3:30 (CBS) - Per article linked above
-- Georgia Tech - 3:30 (CBS) - Per article linked above
According to Paschall, the Dawgs were on CBS 18 times in three years from 2002-2004. However, the College Bulldog Station (CBS) down shifted their coverage of the Dawgs in 2006 (two appearances) and 2007 (three appearances) in recent years.

It's a great read.

I can't wait to show the ASU kids how real men tailgate. Anyone know if they have my Bulleit Frontier Whisky in AZ?

Two Great night games. I can't imagine how much fun that would be. think if game day were to be at both those games!

Wow, that looks like a great schedule.
My only concern would be if the GSU game was a 1pm PPV, because in the event that we get hosed by the networks later in the season the 1pm slot could prevent us from doing another PPV game (a la WCU 07).
Could FOX SS or whoever broadcasts the SOCON games pick up that game?

Oh, my word.

I am watching the Florida spring game (Why? I have no idea. I guess it's football.)

Chris Fowler on ESPN just said that Tebow performed surgery in the Phillipines on spring break with no real medical training. They were then talking about his "surgeon's hands."

Seriously.

Then he threw an interception.

GO DAWGS!

Watching Florida play today was fun. Their defense does not look to be much improved over last year's model, and our offensive definitely does. Here's to another year of Gator Hatin'!

We may get Gameday in Arizona or at Baton Rouge.

But remember...Chris Fowler hates Athens. In fact, he's smug about it.

Now that ESPN is getting cozy with CBS, I guess their's a chance but I wouldn't count on it.

We still don't need them in Athens.

We're doing just fine without them.

Speaking of LFSports (or Raycom, whatever), are they finally gonna televise in high definition? I really like having more SEC games on TV but they really need to graduate from the stone ages!

Lincoln Financial can't even broadcast in standard def, much less high def.

UT at night would be perfect for the blackout.

I was watching the FL game and saw a girl holding a sign in the background that said Moreno plays with barbies. I hope someone gets him a clip of that so he can lay into them for +150 next year.
