Coach Richt compares '08 UGA team to '88 FSU

According to Coach Richt, he showed this year's team the 1988 Seminole Rap video. He basically said, the '88 FSU team worked hard on making a great video to emulate the Chicago Bears' Super Bowl Shuffle. Unfortunately for the Noles, the '88 Canes spent their off season working to emulate that Chicago Bears defense.

That year the pre-season #1 ranked FSU went into Miami and lost the season opener 31-0 to the Canes. Richt's point...you've got to work to win, and you have to focus on what's really important. Richt's comments come from his SEC Media Days interview, and they were uploaded to YouTube by DawgPost.com.

In the interview he also talks about his approach to player discipline. Good stuff all around.

Hahahaha....the FSU video was horrific, as were all of the mid-to-late 80s sports team raps....it is only justice that Youtube would bring these trainwrecks back to life and punish the participants for their crimes against humanity

Also, the 2nd video was yet another example, in an ever growing litany of examples, of why we are so blessed to have the coach we have....whether '08 is 13-0, 10-3, or 3-8, we have a great coach/leader who is trying to teach these guys the right life lessons that will serve these guys far greater than any offensive techniques, strategies or championship ever will

I've watched it about 4 times now, and it's still gloriously awful.. Dedrick Dodge wasn't that bad though.

They know we be chillin'

dawg_gone....I have no idea what record we will end up with, the point I was making was that irrespective of how we finish relative to the massive expectations we have going into '09, we have a great man, leader and coach for the program -- records/titles notwithstanding
