The AP Poll is out. Georgia is ranked #1. The details on the poll can be found here. Quick Notes:
- Our lead over #2 is actually a tiny bit wider (22 votes) vs. the Coaches Poll (8 votes).
- The gap between #1 and #3 is actually less in the new AP Poll (38 votes) vs. the Coaches Poll (46 votes)
- Ohio State and USC are flip flopped in the two polls between #2 and #3.
- Auburn is ranked #10 in the AP. That makes 4 SEC teams in the Top 10.
- Alabama is ranked 24th in the AP Poll. That makes 6 SEC schools ranked in the Top 25.
- I still feel like Georgia is going to enter the ASU game ranked #2. The AP and Coaches Polls will give the winner of USC vs. OSU the #1 spot. That's a good thing for us because it assures that the team will be that much more pissed off when they get to Tempe.
What's your reaction?

At this point, we can't get bogged down in "the pressure"...is it good, is it bad?, etc., May as well just roll with it, embrace it and accept that pressure is going to be a part of this deal. If they cannot deal with it effectively, they are not going to win the MNC anyway, so they should go ahead and face it head on now and take care of business.
So it looks like ESPN is the only one that thinks we are terribly overrated. I can't even watch college football live anymore because I am sick of seeing these clueless " experts" not have us in their Top 5 but have powerhouse Missouri ranked #1. Anyway, always great to see that #1 ranking next to our name...GO DAWGS!
polls schmolz - just play the games and win 'em.
To me, it really doesn't mean much being Number 1 right now and the "pressure" that goes with it. If we're 3-0 going into the ASU game, we'll automatically fall to Number 2 because, at that point, we're not going to have a comparative victory to the winner of the OSU/USC game, who will then move to Number 1. Built in pressure valve!

I just saw Mel Kiper spout off about Georgia as being the most overrated team in the nation. He says losing Sturdivant is too much to overcome (oh, yeah...and the schedule). For someone who touts himself as the authority on college talent, he certainly hasn't researched our depth and quality of backups very well. Of course losing Sturdivant is a major blow, but unlike most of Richt's tenure, we've got the depth that every team covets.
There are several "experts" at ESPN that I don't listen to. Kiper, Mark May, Herbstreit are just a few. We know what we are up against, and I don't care what the rest of the nation thinks. The Dawgs deserve to be #1, and they are going to prove it! Sic 'Em Dawgs!
RE: Kiper
The biggest problem I had was the list was "Most Overrated Teams" and Kiper in addition to 77's injury said the schedule is too hard. Now if they are treating preseason polls as a prediction of the end of season polls, I might buy that. But that wasn't mentioned in the debate. I understood it to be who are the best teams, which at this point, schedule has nothing to do with. The schedule may/will affect how Georgia is ranked in the future, but it has no bearing on the talent and history this Georgia team has NOW.
its time to kiss some ass
let the hate begin!
go dawgs!
If we win impressively at columbia then I don't think we'll drop, be down 16-0 going into the fourth and win ugly, probably so
