BCS Standings Still Like Us

Even though we continue to drop in the AP and Coaches' Poll, the BCS simulator at BCSGuru.com moved us up to No. 2 after the Carolina game.  The Dawgs and Oklahoma jumped an idle Florida squad.  The standings are a simulation and there are a couple of big caveats, like two computers haven't released their data yet and the AP Poll is used instead of the Harris Poll.  The most interesting thing is that the computers used love us.  We've got the highest computer ranking by a good bit.
I think this tentatively confirms what Coach Richt has stated this week.  The rankings will take care of themselves if the Dawgs keep winning.  Forget about margin of victory.  Just win the games.  Even if the  human polls give OU the second spot, the computers should give us an edge in the BCS standing.

not sure if you guys already knew but this just came to my attention - College Gameday is going to Auburn, AL instead of Tempe.

I guess that ASU loss changed ESPN's mind even though they said they'd be in Tempe.

Not surprised with the change. ASU losing really takes a lot of shine off this game whereas the Auburn-LSU game may likely determine the SEC West winner. Of course it might also be a 10-6 game with neither offense scoring a TD.

As for the computers: I wonder how they tailgate or if their lights blink when they see an exciting play.

I never saw them say it would be at our game. May have missed it though. I know some people thought they would be in Tempe, but I thought all along that Gameday would be at the LSU vs. Auburn game and then in Athens the following week for UGA vs. Alabama. Just a thought though, I haven't really taken a good look at the rest of the NCAA schedule for that week.

If UGA and Bama take care of business this weekend, it will be SEC gameday two weeks in a row!

yes, gameday wasn't going to be in tempe, bc as stated, they are coming to athens. I know Herby mentioned that he really wanted to go to athens this year.

The reason for not going to Tempe is because of two boring lackluster teams! Duh!

The BCS StandingS may like you but ESPN doesn't.

NOt to cause a ruckus, but will I be able to go back in tomorrow and change the Louisville/Kansas St. game to whoever wins it tonight....considering the deadline is not for a while yet?

I just noticed that 5 of the AP top 10 are SEC teams. Tell me this conference doesn't kick ass!

Looks like I hit a nerve. Perhaps there are some AP and Coach's poll participants in here.

oh, and pac-10 phil, find your "caps lock" key, and use it. Since you are from the pac-10, you might want to get your nearest computer nerd to help you find it.

Pac-10 dude,

Learn to spell. I know it is the internet, but that is no excuse for not taking the time to spell (I have accept a typo).

At least when I was at UGA, we were expected to spell correctly.
