Let's show those turds who's boss.
Like Quinton said, we're going to have to make an example out of someone. It's like your first day in prison. You gotta kick someone's ass right off the bus so people will respect you. That's pretty much what Southern Cal did to UVA. Of course, they beat up Thomas Jefferson instead of some big scary dude over by the weight lifting equipment, but everyone in "The Yard" saw it.
All we can do is
As for the poll ballots...you may be interested to know that we actually gained 4 net "points" in the coaches poll. Yes, we lost two first place votes, but the bigger reason that USC jumped so much were the first place votes assigned to OSU, Florida, and OU that they gained.
The AP poll, which has zero bearing on the BCS Standings beyond "perception" issues when the Harris Poll comes out in a few weeks, we dropped net 22 points. That means that about 1/3 of voters dropped us one spot. That's not so bad considering that OU and UF also dropped a bit. UF remained flat overall.
Regardless, we were always going to drop a spot to the winner of OSU/USC. The good news is that OU only had 2 first place votes to our 20 first place votes in each poll. We only need to finish 2nd to make the title game.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?! Heck no! ... Well just kiss my ass from now on! I'm not gonna take this. Steve Spurrier, he's a dead man! Arizona State, dead! Florida..."
I love the analogy. Is another option to become ESPN's "Bit#h" for protection???
Careful, you might blow out an O-ring.
Dead!!
Dante's right. A bit psychotic...but absolutely right. We've gotta take these bastards...I think this situation absolutely requires...a stupid, and senseless gesture be done on somebody's part!!
(Cut to the celebration in the end zone)
good lord...we will be fine and USC was going to jump us after the OSU game...but does anyone find it disconcerting that dante thinks the Germans bombed Peal Harbor? it was the japanese...and the blog has reached an all time low
Jasond,
Have you ever seen "Animal House"? If not, you should be banished until you do.
It is interesting to note that many years ago Penn State barely beat Indiana (IU scored some late TDs against the PSU 3rd stringers) and dropped in the polls from #1. Travesty really as the game was never in doubt.
It is odd that the #1 team ceases being #1. My guess is that some voters just were not really committed to UGA being #1 to begin with.
jasond,
I believe you have missed the joke. He's quoting one of the all time greatest movies, Animal House.
jasond...
You're kidding, right? You have seen the movie Animal House, right? I thought every male on the planet had seen that movie ten times before the age of 21.
Geez...Dante and I were just making a joke.
skidawg beat me to it.
The thing that bothers me is USC now has TWO weeks to prepare or Ohio State AT HOME in a game Beanie Wells very likely won't be 100% for sure. After that win everyone will proclaim them the greatest team ever.
Once they get past that game I don't see where they have a loss coming. Ohio will lose to USC and possibly at Wisconsin.
You'll have to forgive jasond. He's a little bit long-winded, he doesn't translate very well into our generation, and his jokes are terrible.
Dante:
+1
He can't do that to our pledges.
Only we can do that to our pledges.
dubbayoo,
The last time SC was proclaimed to have the greatest team ever was in 2005 when, correct me if I'm wrong, they ended up losing the RB to Texas. I'm just saying...
Granted we don't have Vince Young or his O-line.
jasond
Damn Brother, I don't believe I'd a told that
And now another quote from an equally great movie regarding jasond. "What the HELL is the world coming to"? B T Justice.
