About 12 minutes of good basketball

Like my dad says....Felton's teams stopped playing the last eight minutes of a game. Pete Hermann's teams don't start the first eight minutes (UF excluded). Hard to disagree.

Georgia started the Auburn game by going 2 of 18 from the field, and they didn't score their third field goal until 15 minutes into the second half. At point, we were down by more than four touchdowns.

Result was a UGA loss to Auburn.

Conversely, they played lights out for about 12 minutes in the second half to narrow a 29 point Auburn lead down to 6 points before the wheels fell back off. If you're looking for optimism going into next year, you'll find it in these 10-15 minute bursts of competence, the Florida game and the Virginia Tech game. Oh...and you'll find it in better substitution patterns, more consistent defense and fewer turnovers that will hopefully come with better ball and player movement.

Last night was ugly.

Well, it wasn't quite that bad--they made 6 FG in the first half and scored the first basket in the second at 14:43--but I'm sure it seemed as horrible as described since the score was 38-9 at one point.

It's unbelievable. When they want to this team can be the most unmotivated bunch of slugs I've ever seen on a court. There are days when you would think they were Savannah State instead of UGA.

This entire staff needs to be fired when the new coach comes in. There isn't anyone worth keeping.

This was my third game to attend this season and as much as I hate to call out a player...I will. Zach Swansey is just not a D I basketball player. Last night I think he had maybe 7 turnovers in the few minutes that he played. He'd be great at IAA, he's just not SEC material

Like I have said before, perhaps it's just as well that I don't see the Dawgs on TV that much up here.

rbubp,

You're not that far off. Savannah State beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi a couple of weeks before A&M-CC beat us at home.

FisheriesDawg, I didn't know about the SSU-TAMUCC game (gotta love those acronyms), but i did know the Savannah State comparison was accurate because that's the level you have to play at to be down 38-9 to AUBURN anywhere...much less at home.
