The two themes of the articles for the day seem to be commitment and ethics.
Richt starts things off with a recruiting conversation where he talks about the meaning of commitment to him in recruiting. Also on the topic of commitment, the ABH talks about the change of culture surrounding the off season workouts. The players sound more committed to investing the work into becoming champions.
On the ethics front, Damon Evans says, "We don't need to cheat." He talked with David Hale about the ethics of the SEC and the war of words among coaches (read: Kiffin's non-sense). Hale's blog includes even more information about the interview with Damon.

Paul, I appreciate your scouring the sites for stories so I do not have to!
The commitment stuff is really interesting. I am not sure what the right thing to do is. I can see Johnson's point, but at the same time many kids make a commitment, even the "Animal House" super secret variety, and then still take visits. I wonder how many times those kids change their minds.
Maybe them taking visits is just a way for them to travel and see campuses they might not otherwise ever see. I wonder how cool a recruiting visit is to Notre Dame or USC is. Just meeting a USC song girl would be worth the trip!!
Maybe an early signing period is the way to go; however, that just shifts the time line of the pressure being applied.
Maybe if a player commits, other schools should not allow an official visit. However, I cannot see college football coaches doing this--recruiting is a nasty business.
Skidawg1285 you echoed my #1 misgiving about this early signing day idea. I think all it does is move the timeline up, just like it did in basketball. The pressure is the same, it's just applied to kids at an even younger age.
And I think this puts in perspective why we don't offer some kids earlier, even when Meyer, Saban and General Peachfuzz up in Knoxville are. Especially instate, you can't afford to withdraw those offers once they go out.
This is absolutely the right way to do things. I hope Richt is our coach forever...used care salesmen like Ed Orgeron just not needed.

Interesting read. Kiffin's comments on Richt cannot be confirmed.
