"I believed if you worked hard and did things right the opportunity would come to me. And in 23 years, I've never made a bad decision. I've never failed in this position."These new guys sure are considerate to bloggers and their need for off season content.
Speaking of which, Blutarsky has the latest on Kiffin's dumb comments fest. Who lies about firing their driver? What battle does that help him win? What a goof.
Speaking of bloggers, Jeff Owens has new interviews with Joe Cox and Marcus Washington up on his site. His progress with the blog has gotten the attention of David Ching over at the ABH who says Owens will talk your ear off about his site if you let him. All of my friends are nodding in empathy towards Jeff's pals.

I predict that Mike Hamilton will be hospitalized with a severe ulcer before the first kickoff of the year.
Kiffin does a good job of making Al Davis look like a crazy old coot every day.
And seriously Gene? Not one bad decision at Iowa St? Not even when you lost you're last 10 games last season?

PWD, I call shenanigans. Buzz Bissinger will tell you straightaway that bloggers don't have friends, what with never leaving our mothers' basements and all.
Anybody remember Rick Neuheisel trying the same act last year?
Taunting USC and putting an ad in the LA Times that the dynastsy was over?
How'd that work out for Ricky?
"...I've never made a bad decision. I've never failed in this position."
Really Chizik? I bet the good people of Iowa State would beg to differ.
Did anyone see if Geathers made his decision today?
Dawg19-
Ironic you ask about UCLA, seeing as how it was their win over UT that cranked up the heat on Fulmer. Since you asked, the answer is that a) it got them attention, b) it bought Neuheisel a mulligan for 2008, and c) it helped them land by far their best recruiting class since 2002.
So...the answer is a resounding "nobody knows yet but things are trending up".
His mouth is writing some serious checks and he spent all his money on assistant coaches...should be a fun year.
Anon,
AJC has this about Gathers ...
"Geather’s father told Scout.com his son has scholarship papers from UGA and could make his college decision as early as next week."
Dubbayyoo...
Also to note that other than Daddy, all that assistant money was on guys who recruit and may not be thought of as great "coaches"

Good points and I agree.
But getting pounded 59-0 by BYU after talking smack to USC was kind of what I was referring to. Can you imagine what the vols fans will do if Kiffin loses an out-of-conference game 59-0? UCLA comes calling the second game of the season. If I were Kiffin, I'd be worrying about that one. That game will set the tone for them.
Did anyone else see this Greg Reid quote from the AJC (as to why he picked FSU over UGA)?
"I just felt like it was too far from home and I’d probably have to work a little harder [to compete for a starting position] with the other people in front of me.”
After that, I'm glad he didn't sign with us.
Yea, me too. Nothing like having someone on your team that doesn't want to work hard.
I can definitely see the allure of wanting to play in front of 42,000 rabid fans in Raleigh or Charlottesville.
Wait a minute..
Yeah, the biggest head-scratcher from Reid's choice, in my opinion, is that he turned down the opportunity to play against LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and UT in favor of playing Wake Forest, Boston College, Duke, NC State, etc.
Sure, FSU has some prestige left, but wouldn't any player relish the thought of being in the clear top-tier league with the most NFL players and the best competition? Wouldn't you believe that you can beat out the players there to get on the field your first year, because you're just that good?
I guess not. It would be interesting to see how many other players were offered at one of the top 6 SEC schools and chose a different conference anyway.
