Richt and Fox in Savannah

The Savannah Morning News has an article about Richt and Fox's visit to Savannah. The article links to a video from Coach Fox's and Coach Richt's presentation.

Richt's comments:
-- We have a chance to compete at the highest level in '09
-- We're not redshirting any WRs or TEs
-- Brandon Smith will play some offense at WR
-- And he gushes with praise for Cornelius Washington.

Coach Fox had an interesting philosophical comment. He said that he believes "you recruit offense and you coach defense" because a kid is either a scorer or he isn't by the time he finishes high school. You can teach a kid to play defense, but it's tougher to teach them to make a basket. Amen brother. Fox also confirmed that Trey Thompkins isn't leaving. Something the AJC covered today as well in two articles.

The Proof will be in the games, however Coach Fox does the Rubber Chicken circuit better than than any of the previous coaching regimes I remember.

Richt's comment gives me hope on the WR situation, and I have honestly been wondering why I haven't heard more talk about Marlon Brown, Orson Charles, and possibly Branden Smith contributing at wideout. (I have heard a LOT of gloom and doom about the position) After AJ Green blew up the position as a true freshman, why wouldn't these five-star guys get their shot?

The more I read about Fox the more I like him. Can't wait to see the on the court product.

Crane, I though Jim Harrick was great in a room with boosters. Do not want to get into all the crap, but he said we would compete, and we damn well competed.

Fox sounds like a archetype gym rat. Not having seen a game,I think the upside to our program under Fox, no matter how long the turnaround takes, is trmendous.

Atta boy Nate, Dawgs win a thriller replay of the 07 final 4-3, now they'll face the Horns in a repeat of last year's championship final match.

Also lol at the d-bag Illinois fan/player in the stands yelling "C'mon Marc, you're better than him!" as Schnugg clinched it. Suck it buddy.

The Marks.... haha.

Mike, Crane may be right. Harrick was smooth, but Fox is right there if not better.

And sounds like Travis Leslie will be back as well, nice.
