Uncle Boone Beholds the Magnificence He Bought

T. Boone isn't concerned about being the biggest, just the best. After donating around $250 million to OSU athletics, he finally toured the facilities upgrades he paid for, which include his own ventilated locker (it keeps the stench of rotting money from disturbing the players). T. Boone's locker is right next to the locker of Sherman Smith, another old rich guy who really wants to hang out with the football team.
Do any of our boosters have lockers? I understand that for $250 mil we'd likely give a donor whatever they wanted, but it's still odd. Isn't it a bit creepy that big money donors can come in, sit in their lockers and watch the team change clothes before the game?
The facilities upgrades are impressive, by any measure. We've heard a lot during the offseason that the game with the Pokes will be the first in the completed T. Boone Pickens stadium, but that's a bit deceiving. Most of the upgrades were in the training and meeting facilities in the building attached to the stadium. As I understand it, the spectator won't notice much of a change from last year. I guess Uncle Boone feels like his money is being well spent, but I expected more wind turbines.

Does this mean T.Boone can personally inspect Zac Robinson's hamstring....and other things?

When asked about the situation, Coach Gundy replied: "That's why I don't read the blogs. BECAUSE IT'S GARBAGE. And the editor that let it come out IS GARBAGE. Attacking an amateur booster for doing everything right. And then you want to write articles about guys that don't do things right, and downgrade those who do make contributions. Are you kidding me? Where are we at in society? COME AFTER ME! I'M A MAN! I'M FORTY! I'M NOT IN A NURSING HOME. WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT ME or our coaches. Don't write it about a booster that does everything right and just likes to look at the occasional young male junk in the locker room."

Boone ought to move to our side of the Chattahoochee. With a fraction of that kind of cheese, he could run rough shod over the Board of Regents, the President of the University and the Governor.

The problem is that OSU is in Stillwater, even with all the upgrades. I interviewed for grad school in Stillwater--not impressed at all. Granted that was half a life ago.

So... why would the coaches' offices have a view of the field inside the stadium? Shouldn't those be paying seats of one sort or the other? And the coaches' offices have balconies? What the hell for? So their families can watch the game from there or something? You don't want boosters rummaging through coaches' offices do you? I mean, the coaches are going to be sorta busy during the game, right?

The inefficiencies of coaches' offices with a view inside the stadium are killing me.

I now gloss thee: Sir T-bone Peekings; please don't drop a crate of money on me (insert youtube clip of Leathal Weapon 2 here).

Is it just me, or does T. Boone Pickens resemble a gray from the X-Files?

Paul, you should do a side by side comparison.

For $250 million, Mike Adams would not only allow a booster to have his own locker in the facility, he'd let the guy take turns spending the night at players' homes.

Heck, for $250 million, Mike Adams would probably let the booster bunk at HIS home. There's probably nothing that is within Mike Adams' power to grant that would be off limits to a booster coughing up that kind of scrilla (look it up). Milburn Drysdale was Gandhi compared to Mike Adams.

This is all so creepy that I'm going to go surf Megan Fox pictures now to serve as a mental palate cleanser.
