We're still early, but the goo is starting to harden a bit. Here are my continued guesses:
- Alabama - Right now, they appear to have the best team. My concerns about their offensive line and QB haven't materialized. It's a power poll, so the Bammers get my nod.
- Florida - Was Meyer being nice or was that the best the Gators have? Meyer doesn't have "nice" in him, so I'm forced to assume UF is only a few points better than UCLA.
- Ole Miss -The Rebs are #4 in the country and need to prove they deserve it Thursday night.
- Auburn - I'm buying the Aubs. Their offense looks like its for real and their defense can control the game enough to make the O's scores stand up. They also have wins over fairly legit opponents, a rarity at this point in the season.
- LSU - I've never heard a group of people more upset about going 3-0. They have issues on both sides, but I just get the feeling this team is going to hit its stride and crush some people later this season. Right now, they're just thinking about it. That Washington win suddenly looks better.
- Georgia - The offense can score with anyone. The defense can allow scores as well as anybody too. So far, the Dawgs are Loyola Marymount, scoring huge numbers of points and eeking out wins.
- Arkansas -They'll score a bunch of points this year because they have a huge QB who can sling it around. But, their defense has to get a lot better for them to win serious games.
- South Carolina - The Cocks pulled away in the second half against FAU. Garcia and crew must win Thursday to remain relevant.
- Mississippi State - State got a conference win in Nashville. Celebrate Dogs because that may be it for a while.
- Tennessee - Moral victory! This past weekend's game was the most disappointed I've been with a Vol loss in a long time. Didn't everyone want to see Kiffy bleed and grovel for mercy?
- Kentucky - I don't know if Louisville is any good, but I bet that Kentucky is just like they always are: capable, but not overly threatening.
- Vanderbilt - At home with a winnable game and they come up short again.

Corch Irving Meyers said he didn't go full force near the end, because he could tell TN knew they weren't going to win.
Weird. Corch Meyers strikes me as a "STRIKE HARD STRIKE FIRST NO MERCY SIR!" type.
Alabama may be better than Florida, but I think it's a stretch to even say we know they are that good. The only real win they have is against Virginia Tech and VT is one of the worst offensive football teams I have seen all year. Maybe we will find out more about them after they play Arkansas this week.
Now I know when you get down this low in the standings it is probably irrelevant, but Mississippi State at # 9??? So a road win against the worst team in the SEC makes them better than Tennessee and Kentucky? I'm not so sure about that.
Who's Irving Meyer?
To Rick..watch this:

I hope Kiffin and Meyer go at it all year. They both are worse coaches when their ego is distracted...
lane kiffin is awesome because i hate urban meyer and florida and because hes called cryer out.
AU at #4, LMAO
Who has Auburn played that impresses you? WVU had SIX turnovers and Aub squeaks out a win.
We are 4th and we might be 3rd. Let you know after I watch Ole Miss actually play somebody first.
i think you meant...
who is tim tivo
2ndly, who in the Wide Wide World of Sports puts any stock into comparative scores?
Based on what they've actually done on the field thus far, here is a much more realistic ranking:
1) Alabama
2) LSU
3) Auburn
4) Georgia
5) Florida
6) South Carolina
7) Kentucky
8) Ole Miss
9) Mississippi State
10) Arkansas
11) Tennessee
12) Vanderbilt
Poor Quinton McDawg. Everyone's hating on his rankings.
@Hobnail
Nice list. Though I'd put UGA over Auburn.
Tennessee is better than Georgia.
Defense, special teams, better assistant coaching, and recruiting are the reasons why.
Recuiting momentum will widen this gap next year.
This fact will become obvious in early October.
The SEC by year's end will shake out this way:
1) Florida
2) Alabama
3) LSU
4) Auburn
5) Ole Miss
6) Tennessee
7) Kentucky
8) Georgia
9) South Carolina
10) Arkansas
11) Mississippi State
12) Vanderbilt
Are you shittin' us? Auburn at #4? They haven't played anybody, and don't say West Virginia... as if them being a mediocre Big East team to begin with wasn't enough, they did everything they could to give that game away. That is just ridiculous.
Right now Tennessee is better than Georgia?
No wonder you post anonymously.
