I haven't forgotten you

The past few weeks have been really crazy with work, being sick and travel. Time for this site was limited. Activity should pick up next week.

You know, you never call anymore. Our relationship has suffered. It's going to be the job or me, soon.

is it just me or did i just read richts lips and he said "thats it your fired"???!!!???

If only we could play Vandy every week! Vandy aside, this was a solid win. Much better UGA teams have struggled in Nashville. Now we have two weeks to prepare for our upset of Florida!

Jman781 said...

No body seems to want to comment about a win...They only like complaining...Awesome...I suspect if we had lost to Vandy, there would many more posts by now...

Is it just me or is that the first game in a while that I was not nervous most of the way through it. Very "relaxing" game this weekend... The butterflies will be back on 10-31.

RedStripeDawg said...

I had butterflies too. Didn't want to see a loss to Vandy. It would've been REAL bad for us.

'bout damned time we had a game where we could rest easy knowing we were going to win, before the last 10 seconds of the game.

Nice solid win, but I really think we should stop running the toss sweep 82 times a game, its getting annoying. Also, we need to target AJ many more times. Lastly, looks like we need to start passing to run the ball rather than running to pass the ball. Loved how Bobo was on the field for the game though.

Does anyone else feel like they're torn over Florida possibly losing? I will be ecstatic if they lose to Arkansas today, but I wanted Georgia to crush their dreams. Not Petrino.

*Sigh*

drdawg said...

well if they lose and we beat them in 2 weeks and win out we go to atl. So yea, im rooting for ARK

Would anyone like to comment on the fake punt by Vandy? I had flash backs to the WV game. Why does this still happen? Do we have to pay someone $500K a year to prevent it. I have no problem with someone running for 33 yards against us, breaking tackles because we at least tried to stop them. But this insane punt coverage where everyone immediately turns and runs to provide blocking leaves us open to fake punts and costs us games. This is the fourth time I can remeber in the last four years.

Wow. UF is good, but there is a story brewing about SEC referees. The 4th quarter pass interference penalty v. ARK was questionable. However, that call combined with the ridiculous personal foul on the ARK LB was akin to jumping the shark and made it much easier for UF to score the tying TD. Add in the no-call on the offensive pass interference on Tebow's roommate and it is starting to look a bit ridiculous.

Am I blinded by my hatred of UF or is there a story here?

SCdawg said...

did anyone see all that celebrating teblow did after that 3 yd for a 1st down early in the game? its insane how the refs never call anything on him!!

the refs in south bend sure tried to give ND the game too.

Dawgs played well today... but it was vandy... not enough to make me feel good about the FU game, especially cuz they played so bad vs. ark, but im thinking it MAY be a close game.

Anonymous said...

The refs made it obvious again who they had their money on! Those two penalties on ARK plus numerous mis-calls against florida. I saw blatent holding in the first half plus a false start and the OFF PI on the last drive.

Whoever made the point about tebow and co. and their celebrating is right. If that was UGA there would be flags everywhere!

ESPN just showed the "Carolina Fist Bump" from the two Georgia state troopers. Hilarious, yet again.

Nice win for the Dawgs! Cox was Cox yet again with an INT. Samuels was Samuels with a fumble (it did roll out of bounds). We will get hammered by the GAYtors constant play fake! The line will be 28+ points!

Go Dawgs

You know, it looks like a team with lots of young, fast, gifted skill players could could beat UF (if the refs don't take over).

Unfortunately, it would require some adept coaching schemes.

By the way: Crew that worked Florida-Arkansas? Yep. Same crew that worked Georgia-LSU.

@ SCdawg

I saw that too. Maybe when we play UF we can compare the first down celebrations. It was pretty sad when everyone I watched the game with was yelling "don't smile, keep your hands at your sides, don't look at the stands,..." after we scored. There's no room for celebration in the SEC unless you're the Second Coming.

In regards to the game... much better tackling in our secondary and also good to see more of the young guys playing over the ones who "earned" their positions by being old.

Even through the sorry officiating in the last parts of the UF v UARK game today, Petrino was Richt'esque... no emotion. On a funny note, I noticed Coach Beamer drop the F Bomb when VT's onside kick didn't workout vs GT. I hope GT is rated in the top 10 when we pay them back (maybe, kinda, with some luck and a CWM lobotomy).

hopefully the refs put their money on us in jax this year!

Russ Fortson said...

Even though it was Vandy, we've struggled against them many, many times with much better teams, so I'm glad to see the comfortable win.

- Glad to see Richt showing a little more animation on the sidelines, and "coaching up" the kids when they made mistakes.
- Bobo on the sidelines may have kept him more in tune with the game. I like that.
- Defense was attacking a little more, and the d line was finally getting pressure.
- AJ Green is the GPOE, or soon will be. He's a MAN, and he's not even 40!
- Hey, we didn't lose the turnover battle today! Rambo's interception was nice.
- Good punt returns by Prince Miller.

Yeah, I saw plenty of things to worry about, but there were lots of things to enjoy today as well.

When's the last time we lost to a defending national champion? It's been a while.

He's given up on the mutts. HA

So will the rest of you too after TEBOW MUSHROOM STAMPS YOUR ENTIRE TEAM (and Mrs. Richt more than once).

Want to see a real program? DON'T LOOK AT YOUR PATHETIC PIECE OF GARBAGE.

Your just a bunch of leg humpers who couldn't play four quarters of football if their lives depended on it.

Hope y'all are ready for basketball CAUSE FOOTBALL IS GONNA GET UGLY.

Projected Scores:

UF 66, UGA 3
Auburn 35, UGA 13
GT 56, UGA 7

Its good to see respectable college football fans out there. What a relief.

Called us "Leg-Humpers."

I.E., that's a Tech fan. In other words, you can safely ignore them.

VAdawg said...

by the way, did anyone else think that it was incredibly lame that the techies tore down the goalposts? Act like you've been there, nerds. I want to beat tech more than anything this year.

Anonymous said...

Whatever, you mutts haven't beaten a top 5 team at home in about 25 years. Not our fault the school lets its students have some fun. Whoever built the hedges was genius enough to foresee that uga would end up with a bandwagon of destructive rednecks (see photos of trashed campus). Adams wouldn't even let your fanbase on the field for fear they'd destroy the field.

Was I out there tearing down the goalposts? No. But I'm not gonna criticize a bunch of 18-20 year olds for having a good time.

Anonymous said...

PS we can't wait to play you guys this year either. Here's to hoping you cream Florida and stomp Auburn. A one loss Tech playing a three loss uog is a lot more appealing to me than a three loss Tech versus a five or six loss uga.

Thanks for keeping vandy from gaining some momentum.

now you know how we've felt about the rivalry for the better part of 20 years

years like this are bound to happen once and awhile, but tech will never sustain long runs of good football ever again, and Georgia will never sustain long runs of poor football ever again.

drdawg said...

I wanna know where this Tech fan was for the last decade, and after the Miami slaughter. Go play with your Trek set. Its a good thing Nesbitt can throw too (1 completed pass), cause now it will be a good game.

Willie Martinez needs to get the game film from the Florida-Arkansas game and study the defensive scheme that the Hogs were using.

Then he needs to use the same scheme when we play Florida. Maybe that will help us slow down the Gator offense.

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!

vadawg@ 2:26...kinda of hard to act like it when they haven't been there before

you'd post if they were undefeated at this point in the season. haven't you ever seen that episode of Andy Griffith where everybody pledged to make a donation to the church piano and when it came time to pay they all welched b/c other things "came up?" Yeah, thats pretty much whats happening here.

Anon - 11:54,

A. No kidding.

B. You looking for a refund?

I post because it's fun. Polishing a turd isn't fun.

When you feel crappy and work sucks, there's less incentive to prioritize this.

I think the saddest part about all these Gator posts is that they're all obviously done by the same poster. What a horrible, pathetic life he/she must live.

BTW Gators, I don't think anybody is intimidated by the Gator offense. UGA and dropped 52 points on Arkansas in their own stadium and UF could only manage 23 in the Swamp with a Heisman Trophy winner? Not very impressive.
