I'll admit my ignorace. Why are the connection b/t LSU and corn dogs? Why are the Tigers so sensitive to this comparison?
I always assumed it the name stuck because of the disproportionate number of carnies who live in the state of Louisiana. LSU fans are so sensitive because carnival folk are naturally more sensitive to insult than the rest of the population.
I always thought this was silly given the high quality of LSU tailgate food but it's college football so, game on!
Also, it started as a random taunt from an Auburn message board. Like gators wear jean shorts without the merit.
Carnies aside, Oklahoma had a longstanding tradition of calling the Huskers Corndogs. Auburn... not the sharpest tool in the shed as far as humor is concerned... didn't get the whole reasoning behind the joke and blindly applied it to LSU.
