Carlton Thomas Suspended for First Game

According to the AJC, Carlton Thomas has been suspended for Game 1 (or longer) for a violation of team rules. The suspension stems from a violation that occurred...wait for it....wait for it...back in the Spring. Back when they knew there was almost no chance for Caleb King to qualify and they knew there was little chance for Washaun Ealey to pull his head out of his ass.

(Note: Carlton Thomas wasn't arrested, but the photo can't be passed up)
Viva Richard Samuel.

PWD

Tyler's Note: I guess they told him he'd be the starting tailback and he went and acted like the last two starting TBs. Damn.

PWD Note: So...what does the depth chart at RB look like for Game 1 according to our commenters I wonder?

Apparently the world is conspiring against anyone who has a chance of getting in Crowell's Way.

Your move Samuel and Malcome.

At least this suspension will save the people sitting around me from a steam of profanity after watching UGA try to run a representative of the Lollipop Guild between the tackles.

Carlton Thomas says: "For a good change of pace, I go from Cheez-Its to Soft Batch."

I can understand people's concern over losing Caleb to a degree, but Carlton Thomas? I hope he proves me wrong..but right now I am kind of glad. One less fumble..plus, it's not like we're going to miss his stellar pass blocking skills. He's never been a weapon in any form..period. He had a good run in a G-day game. Otherwise???

Don't mean to pile on to the guy, I hope he lights it up. Plus, I hope bobo quits running him up the gut, but I can't get too worried about Thomas being suspended a game

@ Anon 3:05 - I think he already has lit it up. That's the problem.

I'm glad, too. At least this will help Bobo and co. resist the urge to play the closest thing we have to an incumbent at that position.

Welp according to a commenter on Dawg Sports, Crowell is on his way towards a suspension too after missing 5 workouts. Hope he's not right. I think we'll be seeing a lot of Branden Smith on Sept. 3.

Referencing this interview that was posted today on Seth's blog, it doesn't seem like the Crowell thing is true
