Men's Hoops Picked to Finish 8th

That is four spots higher than last season's 10th place finish. I haven't put too much thought into the season, but it is clear Georgia isn't ready to challenge Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, or Tennessee (which were the pre-season top four). Now that the conference won't worry with divisions for tournament seeding, Georgia would avoid a Wednesday game and play ninth seeded Texas A&M in the 2012 SEC tournament in Nashville if this were the actual order of finish.

Preseason Media Poll
Kentucky (17) 328
Florida (5) 310
Missouri (1) 286
Tennessee (1) 269
Arkansas 226
Alabama 222
Ole Miss 186
Georgia 149
Texas A&M 122
Vanderbilt 120
LSU 116
Auburn 95
South Carolina 54
Mississippi State 37

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was selected as a second team All-SEC pre-season pick, as well.

Georgia tips off against Young Harris in exhibition action on 11/2 and in the regular season against Jacksonville University on 11/9. Both games are 7pm tip offs at Stegeman.

That's an optimistic projection. I don't see us finishing any higher than 10th and we could pretty easily finish in the bottom 2 or 3.

Yeah, 8 seemed a little high. Hopefully, we live up to it.
