If you are a long time reader of Georgia Sport Blog, you know Paul's battle against the lack of authentication for folks commenting here. Paul set the commenting to full moderation back in Dec 2009 and has long requested I keep them set to full moderation.
Hopefully, I've been able to set up a protocol through Disqus that will allow more commenting functionality. I hate that all comments are moderated now. It stifles interaction with readers, one of the funnest parts of blogging. Part of the fun is the robust discussion (read: y'all telling me how wrong I am) about stuff I think up.
So I am trying out Disqus' platform. Other places use it, so it should be familiar.
In the short term, the comments will be moderated as I get a sense of how it works. Hopefully, we'll grow the list of users and hope to whitelist the vast majority of users so you can post without moderation. Disqus also has a filter function, so it'll allow me to keep most of Carlins' words out of the comments.
It is my intention to continue to approve all comments. It is also my intention to grow the whitelist to the point where conversations happen like they used to here. It'll take about three days to fully switch over everything, but I wanted to give you a heads up it was coming.

This is great news. This used to be a great blog, maybe now it can be one again.
Cheers
Always been a great blog. Unfortunately, it just takes one blown keg to spoil the party.
I think the Disqus system is excellent - have used it before on Newspaper blogs. Specifically the AJC
I'd like to say that was intentional to get a comment. But...I can't.
You spelled coming wrong... With Great Commenting Comes Constant nitpicking
