Instead of being a selfish fan, put yourself in the shoes of a top flight QB who is considering Georgia. Why would you ever consider a school that would sit a four year starter, who has earned his place as the four year starter, and is the SEC record holder in passing yards in favor of someone that hasn't won that job those four years? How about in the shoes of Aaron Murray, who came back for a fourth year and is playing in his senior season? Or Hutson Mason (are we going to sit him if we get three losses by this time next year in favor of 'the future') even after he stayed to earn the right to start?
What message would that send to the rest of the team? What message does that send to the other seniors? What message does that send to other players who have earned playing time?
Now, if you want to debate decisions about who has 'earned playing time' go ahead. Hutson Mason, as much as I think he is a Damn Good Dawg, obviously hasn't done so. Benching Murray in favor of Mason is far more damaging long term than any potential gain next year.

How about the fact that he's a back up for a reason. Get ready for JR3 2.0 in 2014.
