UGA baseball makes SEC tourney

Stricklin's Dawgs head to Birmingham after beating Kentucky yesterday. They capture the 12th seed and face Mississippi State in the first round Tuesday (Bracket below).

This is a significant first step in getting UGA baseball back to respectability and beyond. Now we have a chance to make some noise in a place that we haven't been particularly successful in. According to Warren Nolan, the Dawgs are 56th in RPI, but second in SOS (not that any of that matters absent winning the SEC, IMHO). And to win it, we'll have to beat 29th MSU and then face RPI ranked 8th South Carolina, and beat some combination of RPI 2nd Florida, RPI 6th Vandy, RPI 13th Ole Miss, and RPI 16th LSU.

SEC baseball is the anti-SEC men's basketball. And if we run the table, we'll have earned our spot.
