Damn. Just Damn.

You can't count on the Big 10 for anything. Congrats to the Gators I guess. But damn.

Some random thoughts from the game:
-- Shouldn't Troy Smith be required to return this Heisman? If Vanessa Williams had to return her Miss America crown for posing nude, shouldn't Smith have to give his trophy back for getting on his knees and blowing the game?

-- Did Ohio State's defensive coordinator borrow Willie Martinez's old VCR? Why did tOSU think that the secret to stopping the Gators is to let Leak stand there, get comfortable and slaughter them? A 3 man front with a linebacker playing noseguard? Yeah....that'll work. Everyone knows that you start blitzing Leak when he gets off the bus. During halftime, you should blitz the Gator band.

-- Did Urban Meyer actually send the Buckeyes film of this year's team? It looked like tOSU had been studying film the '79 Gators. Certainly, not this year's edition.

-- Laurinaitis is a french word meaning typical overrated slow Big 10 linebacker. His old man is cool, but good grief could he be more overrated?

-- If any Buckeye fans complain that Ted Ginn, Jr. wasn't in the game, laugh in their face. Ted Ginn Jr. wasn't worth 35 points.

-- Best post-game line predictably comes from Orson Swindle, "It was like watching Roy Jones in his prime boxing an Olsen twin."

All in all, it's always suck watching the Gators win. I can't even take solace in the fact that Georgia with a freshman QB and a banged up defense gave the Gators a much better game than the Sooper Unbeatable Bucknuts. Puke.

It's wrong of me ... but I can.

Well stated. I'm not even going to try to sell this as a "conference" victory as I wanted OSU to hang 70 on UF. I can't even imagine how arrogant Gay-turds are going to be now and THERE IS NOTHING I CAN SAY BACK TO THEM. They kicked OSU's ass in every way possible.

It will be interesting to see Tebow next year when Chris is no longer there to handle the primary job.

I'm looking forward to beating the national champs in Jacksonville next year.

As always, to hell with Florida.

As a Dawg trapped in Big11 land, I was unashamedly pulling for UF, as I would any conference team except Tennessee.

Still, to hell with Florida.

well guys...we must now bear the unbearable and suffer the unsufferable. It is Jeremy Foley's and the Gators world and the rest of us are just along for the ride.

The Gator Nation will be grinning like a mule eating briars and I can only hope that this nightmare will end one day.

sad old dawg

Someone wake me up. I just dreamed that Florida won a National Championship in both basketball and football in one year. This is a nightmare of unimaginable proportions.

I wasn't sure who I was going to pull for until I saw Ohio State return that kickoff for a TD. Then I realized I was pulling for the Gators. I knew it was temporary so I didn't go ahead and put myself out of my misery. I wouldn't have time to go buy cutoff jean shorts, a bright orange short shirt, and tan myself to leather before it wore off so I figured I was OK. I just couldn't help but pull for any SEC school over a Big 10 school.

The SEC as a conference dominated the bowl scene this year and I'm proud of them for that. F*** Florida but F*** the Big 10 even more.

Come on guys, it's not so bad that the Gators won the national championship! Yes, I, too, hate them when we play them in SEC play, but they put an exclamation on this season that no one can argue differently - the SEC is the best conference in the country and has been for years. Have you not been listening to the "EXPERTS" all year long? I am so tired of hearing their crap about Ohio State, Michigan, USC, and Notre Dame being the creme of the crop. Do you realize how close the SEC was to being denied another chance at a national title? USC is the obvious gagger, but what if Notre Dame had beaten USC, or what if Michigan was given a rematch? I honestly believe it took a statement game like this to regain some well deserved respect for the SEC so that future SEC champions will more readily be given it's shot a title.

I sure wish we at least had a "plus 1"...think about it, UGA would've had a shot in Mark Richt's second season, Auburn would've have found it's way to the title game in '04. How good would an LSU/USC championship game have been in '03 season?

Can't wait to play the Gators next year!

Alls I know is that it's not often one gets to watch a televised execution. Florida did to OSU what LSU did to the Dome-heads, what UGA did to VaTech, and what KEN-FREAKING-TUCKY did to South Carolina Hog & Cow, which was absolutely dominate a game from top to bottom.

Next year, when the Colin Cowherds of the world (whom I fully expect to decline to eat the healthy serving of crow they so richly deserve for riding the collective nuts of the OSUs, Michigans, Notre Dames, and USCs of the world this year), again trumpet loudly that the SEC is over-rated, and the complex scheming genius of the aforementioned teams and conferences will ALWAYS trump the raw speed and talent that the SEC schools have in spades, chuckle to yourself, and wager heavily in favor of the SEC schools.

Sorry, Paul, but I was rooting for the Gators last night, and had a big grin on my face as the supposedly-not-even-deserving-to-be-there SEC champions had their way with a team whose invincibility had been rammed down our throats for the better part of five months.

And like JMac, I am taking some silly satisfaction in the fact that Georgia actually gave the Gators a fight, while Ohio State apparently bent over from Florida's first drive on.

Sure, the jorts crowd will be hollering like crazy, but honestly, when do they not? In the end, this is a rising-tide-lifts-all-boats situation for the entire SEC, whose rep should rise in the nation's eyes with this win.

This is how I feel about the Gators and the attitude the Dawgs need to bring into the game in Jax.

"I want them dead! I want their families dead! I want their houses burnt to the ground!"

To Hell with the Gators!

"You can't count on the Big 10 for anything."

You got that right. The one and only time I've ever bet on college football I did a 3-team parlay and picked UGA, LSU and tOSU. Guess which one f'd it up?

Congrats to the Gators...that'll be the only time I say that.

As always, great blog!

Please lord let Tebow run like that next year as a starting QB! His head better be on a swivel because he is going to get tattooed by the likes of Quentin Banks and Brandon Miller!

The next QB that Brandon Miller "tattoos" will be the first.

The "Go Gators" was a one-night only phenomenon, never to be repeated.

With OSU's performance, the Big 10 has been officially demoted to "the 10". No longer the Big 10, now simply "the 10".
